This place came highly recommended so we were looking forward to our evening. On arrival we were told they were short staffed so there would be a wait for food, this can’t be helped but we did wait 1hr 15 mins for our food. It...felt as though the food had been ready a while as the cheese on the pizzas had been melted and then gone hard again so no cheese pull! Also the potatoes with the sea bass were so unbelievably salty, they were inedible!!
We got talking to some holiday makers the next day who told us Sunshine Italian had been saying they are short staffed when they’ve visited for their holiday for the last 2 years…maybe Sunshine should do something about this.
Wanting to give them another chance, we popped in for an ice cream after a walk. Again it was busy, we spoke to the man at the till who asked us to wait 5 minutes. Which, of course we did, we then watched him start a number of tasks, running back and forth past us numerous times. Feeling like we had been forgotten we walked out and got ice creams from the next door ice cream shop. During this time the manager seemed to be not busy while his waiting staff were clearly very stressed.
This place is trying to be too much. It does breakfast, lunch, dinner, take away, an ice cream parlour and coffee & cake all day. I would rather they offer less but do it well, this place could be so much better. It needs better management!!
NB: the young girls who are waitressing are excellent, they are super professional and positive, just a shame they are run off their feet!More
