We had skied past Alpino Vino for several days before getting a chance to dine there. Wish we had gone in the first time, because we’d have probably gone back every day! This has to be 1 of the best on mountain dining experiences we...More

Reputed to be North America’s highest restaurant this place is adjacent to the blue ‘See Forever’ piste and accessed from the Gold Hill Express lift. Inside and outside seating is available. We didn’t have a reservation but were able to get a table on request....More

Not inexpensive, but a 'destination" restaurant for dinner in a destination ski area. It was a first class experience from the time the snow cat picked us up to take us to dine at 12,500 feet above sea level. The food, wine and service were...More

Alpine Vino was my goal... and it was WORTH it! High atop the mountain is this great little wine and food restaurant. A fabulous choice of Italian wines along with exquisitely prepared dishes made this one of my favorite meals in Telluride. I chose a...More

How could you not enjoy your lunch at Alpino Vino!? I mean the view is as good as it gets. The service was perfect, friendly, and didn't rush you, even though lots of skiers were eagerly awaiting our table. The sandwiches were really good, and...More

What a neat spot! A glass of champagne at 12,000 feet. What could possibly be better? Just be careful how much you drink. it’s solid blue run the whole way down!

The highest restaurant in North America at 12000 ft - heavenly indeed. We had one of the most memorable lunches ever here two years ago , so were somewhat apprehensive about trying to remake a magic moment. Well we need not have worried. Amidst the...More

I've occasionally stopped by for lunch when the skiing isn't great but the weather is. Never cheap, always enjoyable, with a truly superb wine selection, all at just shy of 12,000'. You'll forgo the view at night unless the moon is out, but taking a...More

Highest altitude gourmet restaurant in North America. Expensive, but SO worth it. Not recommended for persons who have trouble breathing over 11,000 feet altitude. Hardly any walking involved, however. The gondola and snow cat ride is memorable. The food is unforgettable. Two choices of entrees...More

Just wine and beer as we were told. But my server said there was grappa and port. Both (I guess) technically wine.

Description
Originally a private retreat built on a historic mining claim, this new addition to Telluride’s award-winning restaurants is a quaint European hütte perched near the top of Gold Hill. With hand-hewn beams and furniture crafted from reclaimed wine barrels, Alpino Vino provides a high alpine ambience and is reminiscent of restaurants found throughout the Dolomites of Northern Italy. Inside, a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with a wood burning fireplace, stone floors and exposed wood beams, provides a perfect retreat from the slopes.Situated at 11,966’, Alpino Vino offers fantastic views of the Wilson Range. The expansive multi-tiered deck is a truly unique spot to enjoy a glass of wine with its European teak furniture, coveted daybed and comfortable sheepskin throws. An outdoor wine bar offers a spectacular setting for a midday escape. To visit Alpino Vino during the ski season, take Gold Hill Express (Lift 14) and turn left off the lift to ski down See Forever to our front door.Come enjoy the unique experience that is Alpino Vino!
