Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Arrived at Jacks at the foot of Victoria St having walked up from the harbour. Great location to sit outside enjoying coffee and muffins watching the world go by.

Always reliable, coffee great, service friendly and efficient. The only issue was the lack of choice for cakes (there only seemed to be muffins/pastries). We enjoyed our visits though, many thanks!

I am currently on holiday in Alderney,my friends used this restaurant often, and it’s very obvious why. We had booked a table and we where greeted straight away, menus and then drinks ordered taken,I just wanted the full breakfast. I had a pot of tea,but the...coffee looked and smelt gorgeous, I should have chose that! The breakfast is excellent, freshly prepared and really tasty. The menu is extensive, there is something for everyone. Situated at the bottom of the Main Street, it won’t fail to impress.I am hoping to return there before I leave my favourite Island.More

We had a three course meal at Jacks this evening and it was delicious. Starter we had antipasti which included cheese, parma ham, olives, bread and chargrilled red pepper. Main was Sea Bream fillet, beautifully cooked - tender flesh and crispy skin, crushed new potato,...salad and lemon butter. The dessert was Chocolate Ganache, mixed berries and ice cream. All courses were superb. The ambiance of the restaurant is just right, small enough and intimate enough for romantic dinner or group.More

I’ve been to Jacks on several occasions and enjoyed different meal experiences…breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Every experience was consistently yummy. The menu is simple but all dishes have been delicious. The service is attentive with a family feel. Importantly their coffee is excellent and...Al fresco is available in warmer periods. The decor indoors is unpretentious and scrupulously clean.More

I have just enjoyed some heavenly haddock here. It melted in my mouth. I cannot remember ever having had better, it was truly delicious. At coffee-time there were home-cooked delights - banana bread, for example. I have also enjoyed a splendid vegetarian breakfast here.

Well this was the first time that we visited Jack’s under the new leadership of Julian. Despite Covid challenging times the restaurant was pleasant people well spaced out and the menu inviting. The pancakes were freshly made and delicious while the scrambled egg/smoked salmon was...superb. Great coffee quality as well. Very well done and we will return.More

Ordered special of day which was crab sandwich. Thick fresh bread was lovely but I couldn't find the crab. Doubt if there was more than a heaped teaspoon of crab on wholle sandwich. Mentioned this to waitress but no reaction. £13 was far too much...to pay. So disappointed. Didn't go back.More
