Stopped off on our way to Buttermere. Great little place. Clean and Friendly. Had a sausage sandwich and a coffee, both delicious.

We called here on 2 separate occasions over the previous few days while we stayed in Braithwaite. On the first occasion we both had bacon on toast, which was reasonable although as I'd asked for the bacon to be well done and it wasn't. The...second time I had grilled cumbrian rarebit which was delicious while my partner had a breakfast sandwich. The service was good on both occasions and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Although this is not a place to visit if you don't like dogs as there were several in both times we visited, both of us quite like dogs.More
We visited several times during our stay and were never disappointed. Friendly service, good coffee and a good range of bakes and other food, Obviously popular as we had the last table available on one visit. There is some outside seating too for when it's...no raining.More
Good breakfast , reasonably priced, good choices. Excellent service. The staff were very accomodating in changing breakfast items for indiviual orders. Very dog friendly. A minor gripe - I didn't like the veggie sauges - very dry.
It's a bright and warm cafe, clean and inviting at first sight. Prices are high - tourist prices - but the quality a bit disappointing. Pannini advertised with roast pepper, it was raw, and with coleslaw - handful of crisps instead, not a satisfactory substitute....Cakes were on the dry side. Coffee okay but very expensive at over £3. Salad garnish fine but overall too many shortcomings for the money. As a local to the area I will consider elsewhere in future.More
Great little café. Stopped for breakfast on a very wet morning and the food was wonderful. Freshly cooked and plenty of it, nice coffee too. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely spot on. Lovely staff and food. Dog friendly and lots of choice. Nice coffee. Lovely spot
The cafe is small but welcoming. On our visit there was only a single member of staff so the menu was limited to shelf sandwiches & cakes. We had a panini & coffee each which was priced at £24.50 which is expensive.
I appreciate that mushrooms on toast wasn’t an option on the menu but they did toast and they did portions of mushrooms but I couldn’t have mushrooms on toast. I could have had eggs on toast with mushrooms but…..not without the eggs.
Just popped in for a quick coffee that soon turned into brunch. My Labrador received the VIP treatment she's become accustomed to here, as did I! Excellent service and food delivered with a friendly, warm welcome.
When you order your food for 5 on two receipts you don’t imagine an hour between the food being delivered. But then when you ask where your Bacon sandwich and two sausage sandwiches are you don’t expect this to lead to sm argument between the...staff as to who put the order through. We quickly asked for a refund and left. So disappointed. If you’d offered us a coffee and an apology whilst we waited then we wouldn’t have leftMore
We arrived at the camping & caravan site nearby last night and I looked on here this morning for recommendations of places we could have breakfast before setting off for a walk. I must say,I’m so glad I chose to ignore the negative posts and...decided to try Jaspers. We were greeted warmly by a young female upon entering and we were told breakfast rolls could be made to order, which helped us choose. Both my wife & I opted for the bacon, sausage & egg roll with a coffee, and decided to sit outside on the little terrace. Shortly after, our coffees were brought and just a short time after, our food was brought by another lovely young female who I presume is the chef. The quality of the food could be tasted with every bite. The Cumberland sausage was so much more tasty than any we have eaten previously. I would urge anyone looking on here for recommendations,as we did,to go and try Jaspers for yourselves, you will not be disappointed. We have to return home tomorrow but we will certainly be visiting for a breakfast roll again before we set off.More
Really lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes. I was most excited about the vegan scone that was absolutely delicous. Staff were very friendly and the dog very much enjoyed the sausage.
We arrived at Jaspers at 3.45, ravenous after an afternoon at the lake and were delighted to see a shelf replete with paninis and such like. We also noticed that there were plenty of staff, unlike many of the other places in the area which...are really suffering from shortages in this respect. We were therefore pretty surprised to be told "Kitchen closed at 3:30...". So even though all the food had been prepared and only needed to be reheated, the business felt it was able to turn away our custom. It is always sad to hear that businesses do not survive in these tough times but perhaps owners and staff need to apply a little more common sense and flexibility in what is, after all a service industry? Fell walkers and active people are more likely to be hungry later in the afternoon. We left, hungry- a shame; the food looked pretty good. Disappointing.More
We went here for breakfast one morning while staying in the Keswick area, and ordered waffles. They were quite good, in spite of a few hiccups along the way. Bacon was very delicious. This is primarily a coffeeshop, with a very limited food menu. Our...order clearly overwhelmed the staff, but still it was a fun morning activity. Have the right expectations, and it will be wonderful.More
