Great food and drink available from a varied menu. It was Easter weekend so very busy. Although we did not have a reservation a table was made available and they were very attentive to ensure that our order was taken and meal available promptly. Very satisfied with the whole experience.

We enjoyed a lovely family meal. Food was delicious and the servings were huge. Calamari was the best I've ever had and the fish & chips was great. Good choices. Friendly staff.

Expect average pub food, nothing wrong but nothing great. Had the duck special, sounded delicious on the menu but was overcooked and dry. Most of the food had seen the freezer and deep fryer. Puddings were certainly from the freezer. Strawberry cheesecake was not great and the ice cream was cheap and tasteless (such a shame following a delicious English... More

Very nice location and plenty of room. We booked a table for 5 people. The food arrived very quickly which was surprising considering the different options we ordered. Pretty expensive considering the basic salad and stodgy risotto. You should try alternatives in the area if you want nice freshly chef prepared food. Table and place mats were old and tatty.... Visited for 3 evening meals while staying in Braithwaite. The food was so good first time, we returned twice more. Were able to bring our pet dog into the bar area. Had a warm welcome and very quick efficient service. Would definitely recommend.

We had food here one evening on our visit to the Lakes and it was fantastic, couldn't fault it at all. We found the owner to be very friendly and chatty and couldn't fault the service one bit. Would definitely call here again if we were in the area

Had a lovely early evening meal with family. Most tables in the bar were reserved. Good sized portions, well cooked steak and a delicious pudding. Very speedy! Staff were friendly and polite. On a sunny day the beer garden is great. Fab pub in a lovely village.

Stopped here for supper (staying in campsite down the road) and had a perfect Cumberland sausage and mash. the food is simple and tasty, and the ales are good too. A lovely evening by the fire planning our next walk. Ps the bar on the left of the front door is more atmospheric

We have been travelling with our dogs over the last 20 years, and been to many dog friendly hotels but we consider this one the best for us. This is now our 4th time staying there, staff excellent /rooms excellent / price excellent / food excellent. WHAT MORE CAN WE SAY !!!

Great local pub with fantastic views. Dog friendly in one par, even provide biscuits! Food looked great, but I was more interested in the variety of real ales.

Thank Alan T
