I have been several times before and the carvery has been excellent. Oh what a disappointment, the meat was almost cold & the vegetables not much better. The roast potatoes & parsnips were cremated & the Yorkshire pudding was more like a sponge.

Can’t fault the food but the management on the day was extremely poor. The lady preferred to blame an imaginary customer for cancelling one of our tables rather than say that there may have been an error! This was a family get-together for members from overseas...More

Hi having only had the carvery I cannot speak for the main menu. But they do usually on the carvery have 12/14 veg so a wider choice of veg. I’m sure they would try to accommodate any dietary needs. As each time we’ve been... More

Description
Ye Olde Hobnails Inn is a charming, historic Inn and restaurant that dates back to 1473 and has now been given a new lease of life under a new friendly, family run management team. We are located in Little Washbourne, on the edge of the Cotswolds, between Tewkesbury and Stow-on-the-Wold. We'd appreciate it very much if you'd come by and provide us with your custom, and any feedback you may have - all comments are welcome! Our menu consists of freshly prepared, locally sourced hearty British food which includes a Carvery with roasted potatoes, a choice of meats, homemade gravy and freshly cooked vegetables served throughout the day, everday. Many items on our menu are home-made including: soups, breads, pies, patisseries, ice creams and more! You can come by during our open hours or make a reservation via phone, email and soon by our facebook and twitter page. The Grade II listed building exudes bags of character with its exposed beams, open fireplaces and agricultural implements adorning the walls. Here at The Hobnails we have a non smoking policy and are family friendly. We have a beer garden and are on a public footpath, so if you fancied going for a walk we can provide a route to take so you can end up back here for comfortable seating in our lounging area, then sample some delicious homecooked food and a strong drink! We can't guarntee sunshine though! Ye Olde Hobnails Inn has a rich history and even a ghost! Reputedly the ghost is of an eight-year-old boy who drowned in a tunnel that links the pub to a nearby chapel. But don't be frightened, he's friendly. Nobody is quite sure where the name 'Hobnails' originates from but an agricultural link has been suggested; Hobnails on the soles of boots. Hobnails were made in the Tewkesbury Nail Making Industry (But not the manicure type!) Another possible source is that the name 'Hob' was given to the name of the Devil and its links to alcohol... But searches in archives have revealed no certain answer.
