Went last night & had a lovely meal accompanied by good entertainment. Very good service & food quality great. It was nice not to feel you were being "robbed" because it was new years eve. Owners continued to offer what is normally a good value...More

Used to be a lovely stop off for some proper good food, but unfortunately I can say it has gone downhill if my last visit is anything to go by... food was unfortunately cold and very overcooled (steak) when asked for rare to medium. Also...More

Wow! Called here after a Christmas walk and we weren’t going to stay. The chef told us that they would start serving early and we are so glad we stayed. My steak was beautiful and everything was cooked perfectly. The salad was dressed correctly and...More

Came here for lunch in December following good reviews on tripadvisor. My starter of breaded Camembert was tasty but the portion was far too small (only 2 miniature triangular pieces of cheese for £6.25). The steak and ale pie however was superb and really good...More

The food was outstandingly wholesome and local, the rooms were individualistic and charming, the location convenient for those who love nature, and a good night’s sleep was easily had. Hosts friendly, staff service good, lot of history

Beautiful rooms luxuriously furnished. Top class breakfast. Evening meals at additional cost but plenty of choice and very reasonably priced.Don't be put off by the no ensuite as there are private bathrooms close by for sole use. Lovely countryside.

One of the best steaks we have had for a long time! Friday night is their steak night and comes with a glass of wine too! Great value. A welcoming lovely country pub for everyone in the village of Eggleston.

Generous portions of home-cooked food, especially the home made chips! Try to go on steak night for 2 x sirloins and 2 x glasses of wine for £25 (bit extra if you want rib-eye or fillet). Menu is varied with a specials board too.
