I visited the Wheatsheaf with my 2 teenage daughters for an evening meal as they fancied 'pub grub'. Having not been to the pub in over 15 years and knowing it had changed hands a number of times since I was unsure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised at the renovation work that had been undertaken since I... My wife and I called in to the Wheatsheaf Inn on a couple of occasions (lunchtime & early evening) for a meal, each time the food was excellent. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Friendly and helpful staff.

We were just passing and decided to pop in asked if they do food and a friendly staff member said of course all day everyday. Great start we ordered our drinks and noticed that it's cash only at the moment we asked where the closest cash point was and directions were given. We returned and ordered our meal when it... More

My friend and I called in for lunch. We'd heard the place had changed hands so went to investigate. Very pleased to discover the place has been cleaned and decorated. Very minimal menu, no salads, but the owner offered to make us salad or anything else we fancied. Two delicious salads with home roasted ham. Perfect. The young lady serving... More

While the menu is small it is quite traditional and contains the usual favorites but at a lower price than its competitors. The food is nice and the chips are the best i've had for a long time. We found the staff pleasant and friendly, service came quickly, but it was quiet that night so that was to be expected.

Was OK a little overpriced for what I received and the chips weren't the best I've had nice pub for a few drinks if you're in the local area but for food I'd probably try a different place.

The second time we visited the Wheatsheaf whilst staying in the area. The first occasion was with as party of 4 and the service and food were of the highest standard. The portion size was large and unfortunately decided to have a starter and left bloated. The second occasion was with family a party of 7 and without exception all... More

Called here for sunday lunch. So disappointed, ordered 2 beef dinners, i couldnt believe my eyes when they arrived, 4 small pieces of boiled potato, 1 roast the size of a pebble, 1 slice of parsnip, it had been sliced thinly, 3 slices of carrot, and a very small teaspoonful of, i think, leeks in white sauce, sadly not enough... We are so sorry that you did not have the dining experience with us that you should have had. Having only recently taken over the business, our new chef is only just getting used to the kitchen and portion sizes. Thank you very much for highlighting this issue to us and we can assure you we will make every effort... More
