Four of us went to the Wheatsheaf on a cold January Saturday night for our evening meal. We were met by a lovely roaring open fire and the bar has moved to the centre of the building since we last visited plus the decor has been changed creating a homely atmosphere. The menu contains what you would expect from local... More

We had booked in here for our work Christmas party. Unfortunately something cropped up just before we were about to all turn up so this put a bit of a dampener on things. Most of the party were able to turn up on time but I was one of the few who couldn’t make it on time, due to an... More

Excellent home cooked food including vegetarian & sweet options with good sized portions. Wood burning stove added further character to an already modernised country pub!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have visited this pub a few times with various groups and have always had a good meal in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Very traditional type pub with lots of good beers. Surprised with the food as it is more gastro pup food , you get very good portions and it is well cooked. Good range to choose from on... More

Classic pub lunch grub: burger, gammon, fish and chips etc. A limited range of mains to choose from though, and if you're a veggie the range is poor compared to other options locally. Cannot complain about the quality of what was delivered and the quantity - really enjoyed the gammon. Great value too - £30 for 3 meals and drinks.... More

Having changed hands recently we decided to try the well advertised Christmas special. Being on the X5 bus route meant we could both have wine with our meal. The place is very welcoming with a nice wood fire. Food was excellent and the service good. Plenty to eat on the Christmas special menu! Luckily we had enough cash with us... More

After taking a wrong turn saw this little sign saying all day food, we turned round and took a chance. I am so pleased we did 😆. I had the burger, this came with cheese and bacon in a brioche bun. It was accompanied with exceptional homemade onion rings and fabulous chips. A wonderful side salad and coleslaw. I was... More

I visited the Wheatsheaf with my 2 teenage daughters for an evening meal as they fancied 'pub grub'. Having not been to the pub in over 15 years and knowing it had changed hands a number of times since I was unsure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised at the renovation work that had been undertaken since I... Our aim is to offer a relaxed, welcoming village pub with great service, ambience and creatively home cooked food, produced in our kitchen. Enjoy the atmosphere of a classic English inn with a real log fire crackling away on a cold winters night. Settle down with a pint of our local ale or whatever your favourite tipple is. Dogs are allowed in the bar making us a perfect for all those enjoying a good country walk with your four legged friend. We also offer bed and breakfast in our double or twin room and enjoy a full English breakfast to start the day a head.
