Had dinner and stayed over with a group of friends. Good food, great bar. Some of the service at breakfast was a little quirky but this didn't spoil the experience

An old pub/guesthouse but lacking a thatch roof! I would have thought that it would have had a thatch originally but it has been replaced by a tiled roof. Still looks old but a thatch would have given it more character. Three of us visited for lunch. Impressions not good when waitress/barmaid could find no record of our booking. Eventually... More

Needed a well earned lunch with friends after the frenetic Christmas period. Luckily saw really good deal on Internet so bought the voucher for a good price. It was a 2 course lunch with coffee for 4. We could choose any of the 5 starters & any of the 12 (approx) mains. Deserts were an additional £5.95. We were pleased... More

Used a voucher one Saturday lunchtime and had a meal for two. The booking was a good process and led the way for what was in store. Must say staff were amongst some of the most customer friendly we have experienced anywhere and very obliging. We asked for slight adjustments to meal and were met with a can do attitude... More

I have been numerous times (50+) to this pub since 1995. Brilliant relaxed old-world atmosphere, great food that regular changes, good beer, fantastic wine and amazing whisky. Consistent performer, even though it changed hands a decade ago. Current manageress has it nailed. As far as country dining pubs go then this ranks amongst the best....and it has done for years.
