Not happy with the "feel" or vibe of the newer layout. It could be a function of resisting change. however the "cozeyness" and "homely" feel to the experience feels more commercialized now. The food quality is still up to standard.
We are from Canada and we were told by our driver to we have to try Richard sharks and bake. It did not disappoint! It was delicious! Some of the other checks along the beach or completely empty we did have to wait in line...More
A group of friends and family regularly visit this "joint" on our Sunday visit to Maracas Bay. The place is clean and teaming with people - eating, drinking and having a great time - love the atmosphere of camaraderie. Only drawback is the wait to...More
Visited Richard's new facilities at my recent visit home. Being a workday there was no queue and it was relaxing to take time to choose what I would like to order and sit and enjoy looking towards to the beach!

Richard's continues to be the best shark and bake on Maracas beach! Lovely big pieces of shark and so many condiments to add to your sandwich. Very efficient and fast even when there are a lot of people the line moves quickly and you get...More

Yes, it's possible. Takes about an hour and change to get there. An hour back. say you spend an hour at Maracas, you still have a 2 hour buffer. Immigration at Piarco can take an hour or more though, so keep that in mind... More

To go to the beach, I recommend hiring a private taxi from the airport for the round trip. Should be about USD 100-150. renting and driving a car might be a lot cheaper, but i don't know how comfortable you'll be driving on the left side of the road on mountainous narrow roads in a foreign country.
