Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked ahead and came here for dinner one evening. It’s a nice traditional French restaurant. We sat downstairs which was dimly lit and we couldn’t see a lot. The food was nice, I had the onion soup to start and the raclette for main course,...it was expensive but we had a good time. I would recommend this restaurant, maybe I’d have some meat next time.More

Having been a few years ago, booked again. Two family of mixed ages. Menu has something for everyone including local cuisine, pizzas and even Asian/Thai food. Delicious, great atmosphere and reasonably priced with good service too. Definitely add to your list.

We went for an early dinner here as 8 friends on our last evening in the area. What a wonderful atmosphere, brilliant food, great wine, and lovely staff. They were extremely busy but remained helpful and attentive - a real credit.

Came as a family group and we were seated in what feels like the overflow area in the doorway people queuing around you and sat in a corner where my husband had to sit with a hole in the wall and wind blowing in bad...start tried to put a coat in the hole but not very successful. The food we ate was very average this time and the staff just couldn’t cope there were way too many people crammed in they did waiver some of the costs for our meal but it’s really put us off coming back as this meal was supposed to be be of the highlights of our week really disappointedMore

I have been coming to Morzine for a few years now and a regular visitor of L'etale. I wanted to bring my boyfriend for the first time as I've had such a good previous experience. I booked our table months in advance, to be given...a table they literally dragged out the back room in front of us. Put right next to the bar where waiters were knocking my boyfriends chair and carrying hot food over the top of his head. We asked to move and were given a table we could only have for a limited time. The food arrived and the steak was so fatty I couldn't chew/eat half of it. They took our drinks off the bill but a discount wasn't what we wanted, the whole experience had ruined the evening of my partners birthday. I won't be returning after this.More

We were again recommended to visit here and I’m so glad I booked a table. We were absolutely starving and so had the most amazing three course dinner here. Every single element of every single dish was outstanding. We had three amazing evening meals in...morzine but I think this was my favourite. Cosy intimate atmosphere. Great service. Highly recommend!More

We both had a rather bland tartiflette, but the people on the next table had a fantastic looking steak, which they said was as good as it looked. The restaurant staff were great - clearly enjoyed their work. The atmosphere was excellent and the evening...a good one despite the slightly disappointing food.More

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. I am not vegan but tried the vegan tartiflette which was very nice. Friends had the meat tree which was delicious as was the rice which tasted like it had the meat juices on it. Service was a bit slow...but it was very busy and we were 16 people in all.More

We have been going to l’etale for years . We were excited to go again and had also booked to go on Thursday . Our food arrived in bits so noone ate together , then my plate arrived , the beef fillet and it was...all cold . I sent it back by the time it came I was eating alone . We ordered wine that never turned up and a side salad that never arrived . It was the overall Service that was dreadful and the food was not great . Very disappointing . We have booked somewhere else for our second visit.More

Food was amazing! Even though we were a party of eight - each of us with very different tastes (including 2 vegetarians) the menu here is so varied there was something for everyone. Pizzas, pasta, steak & tacos … the menu did not disappoint. The...staff were so friendly & helpful- even offering us a lift home! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Best experience of our holiday so far.More
