Lunch was needed so the bible was consulted. It was difficult to distinguish the restaurants of Truro one from another but this one stood out. Always close to the sea in Cornwall one should not go far wrong with a fish and chip shop but...More

Both sit in and takeaway are consistently good. There are not many fish and chip places I would go to but this one is the best in town. Portion sizes are ample and the team are always polite and friendly. Would recommend

Went solo for cod and chips. They do provide small portions, which is great, as they are generous portions! The service was friendly and efficient and they gave me scissors to cut my tartar sauces packets - great touch! A great clean well run down...More

Firstly, the Fish and Chips are always lovely and the staff are nice too. The portions have been steadily getting smaller while the prices go up. We have a card where you collect stamps, by 10 (I think) get your next one free. We went...More

I love ordering the regular cod and chips here. It is very tasty, not oily, not soggy and with just the right amount of salt. The price is £7 but the smaller one is £5. I don't prefer vinegar as the usual condiment but you...More

Sole Plaice has been established at the same location for over 30 years as a family run business. We take great pride in the products and services we provide. All our fish stems from sustainable sources, in Russian, Norwegian or Icelandic waters. Our potatoes are local and freshly peeled and chipped every morning through rain or shine.Since opening in 1980, Sole plaice has been cooking in Beef dripping. We believe it gives a far better flavour and texture.
