We've been in the Old Globe a few times, basically every time we want lunch when we are in Truro. We had to find a reliable stop after the One-Eyed Cat shut and a cafe at the back of the cathedral on Old Bridge Street (Lemon Tree?) closed down. But what a good alternative. It's never been too busy when... More

We have been to the Old Globe on a number of occasions for lunch and have loved it. Unfortunately on this occasion the service was slow and the food average. I know the person was on his own and new to the role, and to be fair I have no problem waiting for fresh cooked good. food, but this was... More

Called in for lunch, lone lady in cafe serving and completely overwhelmed by 4 sets of customers. Slow service but coffee was ok. Lunch was poor after a 40 min wait & cutlery was really dirt. Tried the food, soup was half a bowl of salty potatoes & fish cakes were really poor quality. Left without eating. Lady behind counter... More

We were visiting the Cornish Food Show in Truro and looked around for somewhere to have lunch. Most of the places were the usual fare and we didn't want a big lunch. We saw the menu outside this place and went in. It's a lovely little cafe/bistro and it does a fantastic range of sandwiches and snacks. I had the... More

This is a gem of a place. We had a beautiful homemade quiche and soup. Well appointed surroundings with very friendly knowledgeable staff.

Spotted this on way from station into Truro centre and were given a lovely welcome even though they were closing (which we didn't find out until after the warm welcome and we were established with our drinks). Cosy and comfortable and great food and drink.

Very friendly staff member served us tea, coffee and a very nice beer. Lovely value, decent Portions and very relaxed atmosphere. Hopefully we can get here again before the end of the holiday.

Was heading to the Secret Garden - which is no more and passed this place on the way. Needed a hearty breakfast and the Cornish Fix (full English) certainly fix the bill. Well prepared - not your greasy spoon. Mien Host was friendly, helpful and charming and as he said the coffee was a "good bean". Comfortable little bistro with... More

We cannot recommend the old globe cafe enough. Christian is a brilliant host, welcoming and friendly. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. Definitely telling friends and family to visit. The next time we come on holiday to the area we would make the trip especially to visit again.

Just wanted a lovely relaxing break and we picked the right place! Spoilt for choice on the menu but both succumbed to the freshly made quiche with dressed salad and buttery new potatoes! Would have loved to stay longer, will do next time! Thanks to a great host too!
