Although the place itself is very nice, the food did not live up to the surroundings. My meal was ok, cod, chips and peas but was only lukewarm. The food was cooked, especially the chips, but I had the feeling it had been waiting for...my friend’s meal to be ready before serving. No one came to check if the food was ok, so there was no opportunity to say anything. We both agreed we would try somewhere else next time.More

Bad experience as my husbands pie was cool in the middle and also had a funny tasting mash potato. So they put it in a microwave which made the pie worse. It just ruined the night fir us all.

Stopped in for business lunch around 12pm, was I think first people in there, but after we sat it got fairly busy. Good lunch menu, a little expensive, but overall recommend.

My wife and I visited this pub yesterday having viewed the website and thought the menu seemed good. Turns out, I should have looked at some of the reviews. We arrived on New Year’s Eve for lunch and were the only people in the restaurant....The bar was well staffed as was the kitchen. The young lady who greeted us was kind and said to sit anywhere we liked. She took our order and was polite when we said we needed more time. We both ordered the roast Turkey breast and the food came in good time. The dish said it came with bread sauce but when the meal arrived this was missing. While I realise this isn’t the be all and end all for everyone, it’s still an item I expected to get. I politely asked for it and another lady went to check. She came back to the table and just said there isn’t any bread sauce. No sorry or can I get you anything else or anything in the way of an apology. Her tone almost implied it was a cheek for me to ask at all. The meal itself was average and not worth the money. The service, minus the initial welcome, made the experience something I would not recommend. I don’t often leave reviews either but this place really got to me. A big disappointment and I won’t be going back.More

We came along for our work Christmas meal. Never been here before. It’s a lovely place and it felt really cosy and Christmassy. Pre ordering, booking etc was very easy, great customer service. The service was excellent, the food good. I had prawn cocktail starter,...Turkey dinner for main and Christmas pudding for dessert. I was a bit disappointed in the prawn cocktail, lots of onion in it, which I’ve never had in a prawn cocktail before and dry toast, no butter… hmm. However the Turkey dinner was delicious and absolutely spot on. The Christmas pudding was yummy, although it perhaps could have been presented in a bigger bowl. Some others had the crumble which looked amazing, but it was crammed in a very small bowl. Just a couple of things: There were no Christmas crackers. The place was packed, tables very snug. The other company in the area we were sitting in were really really loud so it was hard to talk. This obviously isn’t the Exhibition’s fault but maybe less people in one area would help. All in all though we had a lovely meal, the staff were great. The waitress that served us worked so hard - thank you! I will definitely return to check out your usual menu.More

Came here for a dinner with friends on a Wednesday night in December. Restaurant wasn’t busy and the place looked lovely. Really poor service however with a rude waitress and food really was not worth the money. One of the party asked for a 125ml...wine specifically as she was driving home, was served a 175ml and told there was nothing that could be done!! Apparently they don’t have a 125ml on the menu so this is all could have been offered - would have been nice to have been told before bringing it over! We had pre ordered food but service was really slow generally. It took us around 3 hours to have 3 courses!! The pork belly had a large amount of white, uncooked fat across the top. The dauphinois potatoes tasted like they were cooked a week ago and then microwaved. The fish was really greasy and the all the veg was barely cooked and very anaemic. The desert however was probably the worst - half of the group ordered a ‘berry and apple crumble with custard’. The better way to describe this would be warmed up granola with tinned, microwaved apple slices with powdered, microwaved custard which had a really great thick film over the top! Won’t be rushing back - would not recommend!More

We arrived and politely asked if we could have another table. The response we received was really rude and not what we expected from a member of staff to be honest it was very unprofessional. Apart from this the food was great..

Booked a table for 7pm for 4. Arrived and was told to choose our own table by waitress and she'll be with us in a minute. Only us 4 and a table of 3 in the restaurant. We ordered drinks, initially 2 of us had...to swap to the correct drinks we'd ordered. They came quite quickly. Took a while to take food order. We asked for some alterations (no lettuce or tomato in a burger, chips instead of salad, coleslaw rather than pea puree) hardly major. 50 minutes after ordering food eventually arrived and in this time there was no communication or table service. Waitress complained about us being fussy on delivery of food, the burger was missing burger sauce, over cooked amd the bacon for the burger arrived in a seperate bowl halfway through eating? Along with a side order of chips, the 2 lasagne were over microwaved and black burned, so dry, the garlic bread was rock hard and inedible, the chips were dry. We asked for sauce each and one small communal sauce turned up that again weirdly was dry. The fish and chips was undercooked and extremely oily. All coleslaw had turned like it was sat in the fridge too long. Our bill was extortionate, table service non existent, no one completed their food, we was not once asked how our food was, whilst the other table seemed to have full table service. We paid and will not return, visited a chain for dessert in pure disappointment. For a total of 7 order for the night and lots of staff around there was really no need for this experience to be so rubbish. Don't recommend and won't be returning.More

I was drawn to this restaurant because if what looked like a lovely menu. My partner ordered the beer batter fish, home made chips with a pea and butter puree. Sounds great? Fish chips and peas and tasted like it had come from the chipshop!...My meal was Spiced chickpea & tahini burger, brioche bun, cumin yoghurt, chilli mayonnaise, mixed leaf, tomato, homemade chips. Sounded like another great meal... what DIDN'T arrive was the cumin yoghurt, chilli mayonnaise. I did however get 1 lettuce leaf and random coleslaw instead. No explanation or apology? The burger was so burnt it was solid. I returned the dish. Then requested something else. 30 mins later my second meal was placed down. Asparagus, pea, mint, pesto & risotto. Boiled white watery rice, chopped broccoli stalk and peas? Loaded with black pepper that actually burnt my mouth. I requested management to talk it through. I was left waiting 40 mins as multiple excuses were given. Eventually rather than waste more time I asked for a refund. The money for my meal was thrown down, no apology whatsoever. I didn't talk to the owner he chose to avoid me. I don't usually complain but this needed to to be written down to prevent anyone else going through the awful experience we did yesterday. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!More

Poor options for food allergies and chef clearly has limited will or capability to accommodate these. I ordered the vegetarian meze minus the flat bread (they had no gf bread). It came with 3 dips and 3 batons of carrots and 3 batons of celery....Having accepted the order they brought it to the table and told me I couldn’t have the fritters either! The saving grace was the gf brownie which was delicious.More

The best Sunday lunch ever. Slow-cooked pork belly with all the trimmings and wow 7 vegetables. If you love your gravy, this is so flavorsome and you can request more. All the family catered for, steak tender and perfectly cooked, linguine with chorizo with a...morish sauce. Fab range of gins too. Lovely friendly staff, fast service, ample portions, and relaxing surroundings. The best in the area and will now become our go-to when visiting Huntingdon.More

It's that time of year. The 'Christmas Lunch' options start to appear on menus....and they can be very good or they can be awful. From previous experience, the food in The Exhibition is consistently good, but having returned from lunch, my warning to diners would...be avoid the Turkey with trimmings option at all costs. The food was bland, parts were lumpy, some parts cold, fatty bacon....and a sense that it had been plated up on 1st December and partially reheated every day since, until we ordered it. Just order something else from the menu...anything else......just avoid the 'nightmare before Christmas menu'. Still charged full price despite highlighting our disappointment, so don't hold out any hope of a Christmas miracle. Just order something that needs to be cooked from fresh and not tortured in a microwave.More

We visited with high expectations after reading the previous reviews but were all very disappointed. The staff, whilst reasonably friendly, were unorganised. The service was slow. The seafood was quite good but the aranchini was a huge hard lump of crispy stodge that sat like...a rock in the stomach. We had to negotiate for the balsamic reduction that should have been served with it and after some time got given some balsamic and oil dressing 🤦‍♀️ The 'side salad' was a sorry thing too with some limp mixed leaves and not much else.More
