We called in for lunch on a long distance walk and found the Tennant Arms welcoming and efficient. The barman checked with the chef what vegetarian option he could provide and we were delighted with the result - an extra special goats cheese and caramelised red onion tart,(no soggy pastry) good dressed salad and perfectly cooked carrots, broccoli and potatoes.... This place is on the way home from a trip I do regularly so over the years have popped in for a drink and sometimes food too. Was surprised to see it had new owners who made us feel very welcome. Immediate change was a great looking menu which I can not wait to pop in and try next time... More

We used to love this great dales pub, but have found on recent visits that it is now lacking in atmosphere. the food is OK, nothing more.

I went twice. Once with the large walking group and next day (a Saturday) for lunch alone. Food bar-style fish & chips (£12.50), sausage & chips but the puddings home made, apple crumble, all good. The bar has a real fire, sells a good selection of wines and the bar staff friendly and helpful.

My husband found this place on a cold and wet Sunday afternoon in March. We were out driving from sunny Lancashire with the dog and they made us all very welcome. The food was a carvery that day and even my husband ( who doesn't like carveries) thoroughly enjoyed it. Today we went back with the whole family and initially... More

Visited the Kilnsey show this week and popped into the Tennant Arms for a pint, it was a nice day so normally we would have sat outside, however on this occasion the management at the Tennants had decided to use what i could only describe as a mobile disco based in the parking area to the front of the pub... A lovely old hotel in a gorgeous spot in the Wharfe valley. However, it looks and feels like it's stuck in the 1980s. Ordering our food was the strangest experience for a long while. Even after having having gone back to confirm my outside table number I was asked by the barman to order my food from the waitress who... More

We were introduced to this inn some ten years ago as a great Sunday lunchtime experience. Every time we visit Yorkshire we make a point of spending Sunday lunchtime here. We have not had a bad meal and our latest visit last Sunday was just as good as the first time we visited. The carvery has a choice of nicely... More

Loved the choice of beer and the two pint take aways, good home cooked food and pleasant staff. Lovely atmosphere. Nice find.

It was a sunny but cold Saturday (1st of March) and we'd been walking and swimming the dogs in the Wharfe about a mile away. Called in on spec to get a bite to eat. (after checking to see if they were dog friendly, which happily they were) Very helpful barman took our order and helped when my wife wanted... More
