Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great food, beer and banter at the Castle Inn, Skipton. Booked a table for 6 and had excellent service all afternoon from all the staff. It was busy, which is a good sign on a damp Saturday in February. Well done Castle. See you soon.

We stopped by the beautiful and atmospheric Castle Inn after spending the afternoon in Skipton. The staff were fantastic and attentive, the drinks were quick and the food service was great. What let down the meal was the suprise bacon (not in a good way)...in one of the dishes. I ordered garlic mushrooms (a vegetarian go-to) and when the food arrived it was delicious but had the unmistakable texture of pork. When I asked the kind waitress, she went to the kitchen and discovered that the meal was in fact laced with bacon - nowhere on the menu did it mention ANYTHING about meat in the garlic mushrooms. The dish was removed from the bill without question and with apologies. Luckily I do not suffer with a pork allergy but this is a mistake that could have been potentially terrible.More

Such a fab place. Was here alone with my cuddly westie, Pepper, who couldn’t have proved more popular. She got treats, water and cuddles straight away. Had the sausage & mash and it was delicious. Fab staff, will be back x

I called The Castle Inn looking for space for a group of friends to meet after a funeral. Rosalind said she'd reserve the snug for us. When we arrived, the pub had a wonderful atmosphere, and Rosalind and her team were amazing. They did us...table service all night, for drinks and food. The food was excellent, especially the pies.More

An afternoon at the castle is always on the agenda when we’re on holiday in Skipton and we’ve always enjoyed it. Once again a great time sampling the real ale and watching the world go by. The best pub in Skipton.

Consistently good food, the meat pies are spot on, but I missed on the menu they now do Spam fritters, so had serious food envy when the customer near me got hers! Always a warm welcome from attentive staff. Inside is comfortable and proper olde...worlde, outside is spot on for people watching!More

We were visiting Skipton and looking for Sunday lunch late in the day and came across the Castle Inn by chance. We were warmly welcomed and very quickly our drinks and food choices taken. We opted for smaller portions of Sunday Roast - Chicken for...£9.95 It arrived in minutes and it was piping hot and tasty and represented good value. It was very busy with many people outside but the staff coped admirably. Would certainly use again.More
