Good pub, good food and a good atmosphere. Our fish and chips here more than compensated for being turned away from the Wooly Sheep on Saturday evening. I must also say that the Old Peculiar is an excellent pint of ale.

A great public house with great beers and stunning selection of spirits. Food is great good quality. The staff and landlord run a pub like a good pub should be.

Met five friends on a miserable Monday in January, I am a vegetarian and aspiring vegan, so I always scan the menu for something meat free that I don't normally have at home, I was looking at the menu and told the Manager of my epicurian persuasion when he produced a 'VEGAN MENU' joy of joys, choice of 4 starters... We booked into our accommodation cottage & our host recommended a pub to eat in but we couldn't find it & we looked into a couple of places but weren't impressed until we walked into the Castle Inn where we were immediately drawn in by a warm welcome from the barmaid. We ordered drinks & found a table to study... More

Having just visited The Castle this New Years Eve I thought I should give praise where it is due. We received a great welcome and were made to feel like long lost friends. We were offered a sample of the beers before we chose and I ordered a Theakstons Old Peculiar and my wife and son Theakstons Best Bitter. All... More

Recently returned to Skipton and went to the Castle Inn for lunch this time. The standard for food, friendliness and good beer (with advice and tasters) remains as high as on our previous visits.

Went in for it bit of lunch after a walk through the castle woods.Staff were very friendly and efficient. Loved the variety of dishes on the menu. Food arrived and looked good, and tasted even better than it looked. Excellent real ale as well. Will certainly go back again. Would recommend this homely pub to anyone.
