I really like the meals here, but alas this time was a wated journey from Shipley.! Was a Thursday...billboard outside clearly states open at 10am...went in at 10.40am...2 staff, but not a single pie on sale..I was told there would be some ready in half an hour. Didn't work for me. So I ended up NOT having one of my... More
On entry there is a sense of going back in time, in to a bustling community hub filled with chatter and smiling faces. Families, couples and people like me, on my todd filled the quaint little venue. The pies are generously filled with rich chunky fillings, seasoned well with complimentary herbs for a satisfying finish. A choice of mash or... More
Small and friendly so you might need to be patient in busy times but pies absolutely delicious!!!! Had chicken and mushroom and minced beef with mash and peas. Two sorts of gravy (meat and veggie) both excellent. They have a veggie option pie too which I will try next time!!!
Second time I've visited here, it's great. Pies are all made in house, I always get the steak and kidney, has lovely big chunks of meat and great flavour. You get a choice of chips or mash, peas, ( mushy or garden) and gravy or green liquor, which is a thin sauce with parsley and a few other ingredients. That's... More
Lovely day in Skipton, called in the Pie and Mash Shop for lunch, both had steak and ale pies, the steak inside was very good and so were the chips. The staff were very nice and friendly, will go back.
Just what you'd expect from a pie & mash shop. Excellent pies, I had the fish pie, hubby had chicken, leek & ham. They were so tasty. Served with gravy or a parsley liquor, creamy mash & a generous helping of mushy peas. Great value, lunch here & you won't need to eat for the rest of the day!
Stumbled across this cafe on a Monday lunchtime. It was quite busy, but we found a table without any trouble. Our choices were steak and kidney pie with mash and gravy and steak and ale pie with mushy peas. All washed down with a nice cup of good strong tea. Pies were very enjoyable. Plenty of meat in them. The... More
Very good quality home made pies with fillings that looked and tasted as they should, in our case quality steak and tender chicken, ham and leeks - no industrial "recovered meats" in these tasty pies. The shop itself is comfortable and does not pretend to be something it's not. This is real value for money. Very helpful staff. Recommended
