Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Usually buy food to take out. All very good, no complaints except just wish they'd stop putting peas in the pasties!

Called here for late breakfast as we haven’t been since before COVID struck! Upstairs cafe is beautifully done out. We we’re greeted by a really friendly lady and shown to a table in the window. The menus provided a good choice of snacks and larger...meals. We chose a toasty and scrambled eggs on sour dough toast. Both were absolutely superb. We also had a tea and a coffee which again were excellent. The young lady looking after the restaurant was so friendly to everyone and covered all customers equally well. Nothing was too much trouble. We’ll be heading there again when we’re next in Skipton!More

We visited Walker’s for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal. The bacon, Brie and cranberry panini was excellent as were the millionaire’s slice and custard tart. The restaurant was very clean, well furnished and the staff were lovely, very polite, friendly and helpful. Highly recommend...this cafe.More

I have visited a few times for breakfast and knew the afternoon tea would be of the same quality. In fact it was more than I expected. Lovely fresh sandwiches, scone, jam, cream and a selection of cakes. Great value for money!! The staff were...lovely and nothing was too much trouble. On Wednesday 08/06/2022 we had lunch in Walkers Cafe Skipton. I ordered the chicken leek and bacon pie with chips and peas. When it arrived the pie was obviously not fresh, it looked stale, had been reheated and the pastry was tough and quite inedible....When I brought this to the attention of the waitress she admitted that the pie was not fresh, that pies were made on Saturday morning, but were kept in a refrigerator overnight. Bear in mind the pie I was served the pie on Wednesday lunchtime. The waitress apologised and said she would go inform the chef in the kitchen. That was the last That I heard from anyone , I was not offered an alternative or any sort on recompense. My advice would be if you are intending to visit Skipton and require a decent lunch served with fresh food stay well clear of Walkers Cafe.More

Having bought a couple of lovely cakes the day before, my wife (age69) was caught short while walking past the following day, she asked if she could use the facilities buy was told abruptly 'NO' they were for customers only, she said she would buy...something when she came out but was still refused, now we know that businesses have no obligation, and we don't like to give negative reviews but some common sense should prevail, we were there for 5 days and would probably have visited at least twice, as we did when she got to use the loo at the Castle across the roadMore

Arrived at the upstairs cafe,no sign of staff and three of the window tables not cleared. A staff member finally appeared and sat us at one of the cleared window tables Placed our order as follows. One cheese savoury sandwich One toasted teacake Two cups...of tea. Total cost a eyewatering just under £15. This is a cafe above a bakery not a fine dining restaurant. The following day in Lancaster in a similar establishment we had the following. A full 6 item breakfast and toast A toasted teacake Two cups of tea. All for under £10. I think Walkers need to look very closely at there pricing. There are a lot of cafes in Skipton considerably cheaper.More

Exactly what we needed for a quick lunch in their cafe upstairs. I had the Pork Pie and Peas, possibly not to everyone’s taste, but the mushy peas were so much better than the ones we’d had in Skegness the previous day, so give it...a tryMore

We were staying just round the corner from Walkers Bakery so used it a couple of times. Maybe we were unlucky with our cakes, millionaire’s shortbread and chocolate covered flapjack, but we were both disappointed. The filled rolls on the other hand were good and...excellent value. I had so much ham in mine, I took half out and had it in a sandwich the following day.More

I have looked through the internet and cannot find a online menu. All I can say is the menu contains the usual sandwiches pasties and homemade soup found in smaller bakers with cafés attached.

They have pavement tables which are suitable (if not raining!). The downstairs tables are in the bakery shop so unlikely to be dog friendly. Sorry I can't help you with the main cafe upstairs but I have never seen dogs there... More
