Went between Xmas and New Year and the food was fantastic. Really well decorated and a great atmosphere and very friendly staff.

I havn't been for a while and it's a bit different. It's smarter, just a bit more modern looking but still a good balance between homely and formal. It was packed and quite noisey but very welcoming. The food was very classy. Fish soup was possibly the best I've ever had. Hake was very nice and the custard tart was... More

three couples went here for lunch. We couldnt have been made more welcome. I started with an excellent gin while waiting for our friends to arrive. The meal was top class, I started with a very fine pigeon dish followed by a rare steak. I was a happy man. The sweet was an apple crumble knickerbocker glory which did not... More

I visited Y Polyn for dinner on a business trip for a functional, low key dinner. I was extremely impressed by the service - I was welcomed instantly and offered free bread and water which is very nice. The white homemade bread was divine. I only had a main course as was quite full but it was absolutely stunning -... More

Had lunch here, lovely setting and polite staff. Food was good and sourced well. Not to expensive and would definitely go again.

I confess that we ate here by chance - But we will eat their by design next time we are in the area! My son and his wife have just moved in a few miles away and I asked them to book somewhere "nice" for lunch on our first visit. They picked this simply because it "looked nice" from the... More

we've been here a number of times before and it's always been good - it's been a few months and in that time they have upped their game further and today was really excellent - dishes are now served as complete meals rather than the previous more 'retro' approach of presenting vegetables in large dishes to serve yourself - the... Another superb meal in a beautiful environment. The meal was delicious with authentic flavours, true to menus descriptions. The chef is outstanding in skills and authenticity. Mark, owner and front of house is so welcoming and has a wealth of knowledge to call upon for wine decision advice.

Set priced menu for the weekends, three course for £35.00. Good selection from each course to choose from. A busy nice but staff were brilliant and welcoming. Our party loved the seafood soup, Duck Bon bon for starters and the Steak, Lamb and Hake beautifully prepared and very very tasty. Wil definately return.

We had great food, in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. We thought the sauces in particular were excellent, really complementing the fish and guinea fowl which was cooked perfectly for the main courses. The basic things done really well without demanding attention. The only ( very gentle) criticism would be the table service, which perhaps tipped over from being relaxed into a... More
