5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed yesterday NEW

We had great food, in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. We thought the sauces in particular were excellent, really complementing the fish and guinea fowl which was cooked perfectly for the main courses. The basic things done really well without demanding attention. The only ( very gentle) criticism would be the table service, which perhaps tipped over from being relaxed into a... More

I went to Y Polyn last night 08/12/2016 I remember this eatery back in the 70s it had a good reputation then but now it could be put up against a Michelin star restaurant and come out on top . Food fresh well presented and outstanding taste service was excellent staff new all about the food and what wine to... More

Went here again yesterday for lunch. I LOVE this place! As an ex-chef I really appreciate what they do here. I had the cheap set meal, and it was absolutely wonderful. Slow cooked lamb shoulder, on bed of white beans, vegetables and stock followed by pear frangipane tart with chantilly cream. Outstanding!

This is an excellent pub/restaurant that is in the country but quite near the National Botanical Gardens of Wales. The décor is simple but stylish with lots of food-related art work, good lighting and comfortable seating. They now have a wide wooden stair to an upper events area where there is a substantial table for biggish groups (there are also... More

We found the service slow, but staff were friendly. Very good food, if somewhat overpriced. Overall? Yes, I'd return.

Stopped here for lunch during the week and so glad we made the effort. This is a lovely relaxing restaurant tucked into off of the beaten track. The lunch menu looked good but we opted for the simple set three course lunch. No choice just one starter, main meal and dessert. One price. One meal. Delicious. Starter was Thai Pork... More

The reviews of this remotely situated restaurant were very positive and this tends to make a report more difficult and i tend to look for the negatives rather than positives. Sadly I couldn't find anything out of order....although a little expensive for the area around Carmarthen the food made up for this. The restaurant was full and everyone appeared to... More

A restuarant near Ffos Las racecourse if you ever have a runner there please go to this restaurant now before it gets a Michelin star which it will do within the next few years. Food was superb, tasty and nice size portions. I had the guinea fowl with a pearl barley risotto and my wife had a fish soup which... More

My wife and I have been many times as a couple or with friends. James and his team always make us feel special, whatever the occasion. There is always a tremendous selection of wines and beers. That is not the jewel in the crown however, the food is always excellent, wonderfully prepared and presented beautifully. One of the best restaurants... More
