Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waited over 45 minutes for food, did ask the server to check on it. Server was lovely and food arrived, then had to send back my steak as it was not cooked as ordered. At the end I was not pleased to be told when...my reply to “how was your meal?” was “ food was nice but had to wait a bit” to be told “ well we’re not fast food”. The older male had to then apologise when I responded with “I think 45 minutes is a bit much”. Terrible manners on his part. I’ll make sure to pass the word that the unpleasant staff member combined with too long a wait means this place is best to be avoided.More

My wife and I had a fabulous time at Sleepy hollow to celebrate her birthday. The staff were excellent, very attentive and helpful. The food was magnificent, very well presented and tasted so so good. After our meal we went upstairs and relaxed sharing a...cocktail or two. Fantastic experience all round.More

Outstanding restaurant, we very much enjoyed our lunch on Saturday 16th March, So much attention to detail! Food made flawlessly and served on the most beautiful crockery that is handmade by the owner! Service was professional, friendly and went above and beyond for us, Proper...skillfull artisan venue. I highly recommend to everyone and have been thinking and talking about it to everyone since.More

This is our second time going and the standards continue to be top shelf. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. We arrived an hour early (other appointments on the way went faster than expected) and the FOH staff was quick to find us a...table with smiles and 'no problems. The rustic interior is cozy and inviting with classic rock playing lightly in the background to set a casual mood. The scallop starter with little bacon/potato balls is exquisite. The scallops cooked to perfection just fell apart and the sauce balanced the whole this very well. My partner had the Sirloin main with rib which, again was cooked exactly as ordered. The rib meat fell of the bone with a gentle pull of the fork and the steak was very tender. A lot of times steak requires some poking and cutting around tougher bits - not the case here. The whole thing was beautifully tender and well seasoned, carried by a rich sauce that held it's own among the huge flavours. Buttery mashed spuds were perfect though the lack of veg was the only notable thing. I had the catch of the day which was Sea Bream. The portion was a bit small and in my opinion, slightly over-cooked. The flavour of the fish was lifted by a wonderful sauce, baby spuds and wild broccoli. Wild broccoli is always a bit tough so that is to be expected. The spuds were done very well and the whole dish was very peasant. In general I think the portions could have been slightly bigger. The desserts come only in small, sample sizes so we ordered them all. What can I say... YUM! All of them were spot on. The delicacy of each dish from the panacotta to the torte, the pear and apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding, treacle tart, and the burnt creme was executed flawlessly. Each one had a lightness and a breadth of flavour that would have easily carried it as the star finish for the evening, but all of them together was like a symphony. Outstanding. Sleepy Hollow please, please never change. Never compromise. What you're doing is rare and wonderful. We will be back and we will bring friends!More

Called in for coffee midweek with my husband around 12.30 following checking out of our Hotel for coffees and following seeing good feedback on social media. We were met by a very unfriendly member of staff who abruptly informed us that we had to order...a two course lunch menu! We explained we were not aware of this and stated”sorry you must be very busy” to which she replied”no” then she reluctantly said you can go through and asked us , “ what do you want?” We ordered two coffees. There were only two other people in the restaurant. We sat drinking our coffee with the door open and sawing and drilling taking place outside as there appeared to be renovation work being carried out. We paid our bill and left through a door that says”toilets” walked into a male worker who was vaping and towards the car park where a chef was outside smoking! First impressions awful, won’t be back! It’s not enough to have nice food, Customer service is what people remember.More

A real hidden gem. Food is incredible and the staff are friendly. I brought my 3 week old and they let us bring our pram next to the table (which was so awkward for them serving other tables) and found somewhere more private to breastfeed....The baby needed feeding in the middle of the meal and when I came back they had put my dinner under a heater in the kitchen to keep it warm. Best spot in Northern Ireland for Sunday roast.More

My partner and I love going to Sleepy Hollow, and do so about 6 times a year. In the past the food has been spectacular....not last night. After a 50 minutes wait the main was served and all looked well....within a few bites we were...both questioning what had gone wrong, there was a blandness that we felt sad about. Genuinely we have enjoyed every flavoursome mouthful every time but not this time. The staff are attentive as usual but knowledge of a particular main's elements was actually wrong. We've now questioned a return for a while and hope the high standards return in 2024.More

Had not been there for a few years, and when you walk into the hall way it resembles a waiting area for a take way, with a row of seat and grubby floor. The reception area is cluttered with armchairs that you can't sit on...as there is no space and a chair with a broken back which had the wood sticking out. The staff are ok, but the male waiter was very loud and some what overbearing. The food was just ok, not really hot, and I felt it was very overpriced. Also the carpark is dark and the walk way uneven. As we were leaving the lights on the ground lighting up the building are blinding and you could easily trip and fall. Wont rush back which is a shame.More

Lovely food. Good selection on menus. I had sirloin of beef and husband had turkey. Well presented. Staff very friendly and pleasant. However we were put in a room with a large noisy party. Would have liked a quiet room.

Very disappointing experience. Have been multiple times previously and had great experiences but recently went for dinner with my family including very young baby. The man at the front desk was so rude about having a pram with us- apparently it was a “particularly big...pram”, we were chastised repeatedly and made to feel very unwelcome. I would have walked out if my parents hadn’t travelled so far for the meal. If you do not have room for an average sized pram in your restaurant then there are too many tables squeezed into it! Emailed to complain about the experience but received no response. Will not be back.More

Wanted to take my elderly mother for a catchup meal so decided on 'Sleepy Hollow' as I've always been delighted when I've visited couple times few years ago. From when we arrived on a very rainy night manager showed us to a very comfortable table....Mum was delighted and manager even took her raincoat and walking stick. Sophie an amazing friendly young lady ran me and mum through menu all very informative. She was brilliant. Mum and I decided on Scallop starter between us. Totally DELIGHTFUL..feel like we should've ordered one each it was that nice but my wee mummy isn't a big eater. Mum had brisket and steak combo and I had salmon special along with delicious cheeky side of cauliflower cheese. Everything was fresh and beautiful. Then our trio of deserts were fabulous. Chefs clearly know what they r creating at Sleepy Hollow. Thanks to u all at Sleepy Hollow. 🥰🥰More

Sleepy Hollow tend to cater mainly for company or business customers. Not particularly suitable for families or vegetarians or vegans, to my knowledge.
