Visited The Turks Head on Friday 6 January 2017 Arriving around 19.00 the place was full, but were offered a couple of bar stools near the fireplace I tried 3 different ales and IPA, all were well kept with recommendations from the bar staff about each brewery The regulars were very friendly and talkative, making it a great night Well... Asked for a table for 5 at 1.45pm as I could see a table was just leaving, a brunette girl barked " we are fully booked today" and turned on her heel and walked off. My partner then went in and asked and the same girl said she'd look for him, then she walked off. After a few minutes she... More

Owner managed businesses like ours operate with pride and commitment and we expect great things from our staff. We are sometimes helped by customers who flag areas for improvement.... More

Made a detour on the way home from a holiday specially to have lunch at the Turks Head, having read lots of Tripadvisor reviews of it. We were not disappointed! It was a very busy Friday lunchtime, but the friendly staff are super-efficient, taking orders for drinks as well as food, so you don't have to queue at the bar,... More

Just wanted to add to my previous review; we had our Christmas do at the Turks this week and it was, by far, the best festive meal we've had for many years. Food was excellent, service was second to none and the whole team made us feel very welcome. Brilliant! Merry Christmas to Carl, Karen and the team at the... More

I came here with a group of friends at the end of a walk, and we were not disappointed. I had a very generous portion of beer battered cod and chips with peas and also shared a bowl of red slaw with one of my friends. A couple of people had lamb which they reported to be very tender and... More

Having visited this pub st various times I must finally write a review. It is a really friendly pub for all folks: have been with friends for a night out, lunch during the week or family meal out at the weekend with kids. On each occasion the staff and the other customers have been very welcoming and friendly and the... More

The initial welcome by a young lady very busy texting was missing. I had to speak to her before she even looked up let alone acknowledge us. Another member... More
