Me and some of my family went here for lunch and it was lovely. Very palatable well presented food served and attended by very polite and helpful staff. I posted a very poor review before christmas but credit where it's due.

Stayed in the area for the weekend and visited a few pubs and restaurants around. The Throckmorton is by far the best! The food was amazing and the staff were so attentive. The real ales are very well kept especially the Butty Bach. Great wine selection too. The garden area will be fabulous in the summer with such beautiful field... More

This place was recommended to us so we popped in for a weekend lunch. From the car park we could see it was popular stop. On arrival we were quickly shown to a table and our order of drinks arrived in no time. The menu was varied and offered a wide range of choices. They do a set price 2... More

Popped in here after a long dog walk. Cosy atmosphere with a real fire and they are very welcoming to dogs. Water and dog biscuits given to us. Had a lovely cheese and chutney sandwich on thick crusty bread which was really fresh accompanied with chunky chips. Very reasonable price. The main menu also looked lovely with some good deals.... We were staying the night and decided to eat in. Not dissapointed. Very good menu, with some reasonably priced meals. I had the home made faggots which were excellent. Ambience was great, the area was warm on a bitterly cold night, and the staff were excellent

After booking a table here for my wife as a surprise for valentines I was left with a sour taste in my mouth and shall not be returning. The quality of food was poor considering the price and what we expected from this establishment. We actually left hungry and went to a well known burger restaurant thereafter, needless to say,... We hadn't been for a while, I book a table last minute - they were very accommodating, we ordered a bottle sparkling rose :-D, the waiter advised he would get us the menus in couple of minutes - he got side tracked and forgot, we got our menus and he apologised, no problem it happens. They were very accommodating when... More

Eaten here on many occasions but disappointed on last visit. Mackerel pate more like a mousse.. Too long wait in between starters and main meal.. To the managment don't let this happen it would be a great shame go back to how you used to be I don't want this to be a place I avoid..

Friday fish night is a really great deal. Two courses plus a glass of wine for £15 for the quality of food and service is a bargain. No wonder we had to eat at 6.00pm. Fully booked for later.

We ate here on Saturday after recommendations but were very disappointed. For £16, I had seabass not much bigger than a fish finger on crushed new potatoes (no more than 2) in was served cold. Service was slow and we had to go to the bar top order more drinks as the waitress didn't offer. The Moat House down the... More
