Visited here with a group of friend and I was very surprised! Last visited a few years back and was disappointed but this time the atmosphere, food & service was fantastic! Our waitress nicole couldn't of done more for us, very professional, helpful and friendly!! We all had the lunch menu which is fantastic value of money, all freshly cooked... More

I have visited this establishment on many occasions, for both lunch and dinner. My latest visit proved that standards of welcome, service and quality are always constant. There is always a friendly welcome. The staff are very polite, friendly and efficient. The quality and service of food is excellent. The establishment is clean and comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble... More

Meet up lunchtime every few weeks with friends. We come here as it's within reach of us all and are always satisfied. Pleasant staff and decor, food good for price. I had a chicken , ham and leek pie which was a bit too salty but so nice to have a proper pie, not just a puffy offering on top... More

We visited the Throckmoreton on a Friday evening for dinner. It was not as busy as we hac found it on previous visits but perhaps this was due to it being just after the New Year. Our meals were both ok, I had the pie and my wife the liver and onions. The accompanying vegetables were rather overcooked and a... More

The Throckmorton Arms over the years has always had a comfortable Eclectic decor. I met the wifes owner years back (to review a party) & she was both professional & friendly. About two years ago me and a mate decided to try it out as we do go out for food most saturdays. The guy in charge was fairly hostile... More

Went for a family Sunday lunch and was distinctly underwhelmed. The food really was average. Lamb was tasteless, vegetables were overcooked and the Yorkshire pudding was hard. Shame as the service was very good and the pub has a good atmosphere. But the Sunday roast (lamb) was really quite mediocre and we were very disappointed.

Top Tip: fresh food and lovely atmosphere!! Came here for a family meal and I can not find a fault with the food one bit. The food was nice and fresh and you can tell it was freshly made and not any of the frozen food that you can get in certain pub chains. The only negative bit was that... More

We ordered 3 course Xmas meal today. Starter was amazing. For the main we ordered turkey and it was a bit on the dry side. Pudding was average. Over all not that bad. Probably better when it's not Xmas eve.

My husband and I stopped here on the way back from Manchester so it was unplanned. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress, we ordered a pint and a half of Guinness, but she politely explained that they only had Oyster Stout, which neither of us had heard of, so she came back with two taster measures of this... We eat here for Sunday lunch often and always thoroughly enjoy it. It's a cut above most other restaurants in the area which is something in itself with so much choice in the area. Price is very reasonable, the staff are always really helpful, and the bar has a great selection of drinks too. In the summer the decked area... More
