Popped into the Royal Oak for the first time today as were visiting relatives in nearby Warminster and I must say was very pleased we did. Staff were very friendly and helpful, very decent selection of food on offer, we went for lighter options as it was lunch, our orders came in good time considering how busy the pub was,... More

Had Sunday lunch. All very good, quality food, great service and very good value. Just slightly annoyed by the waitress who insisted on calling us guys. Are we in the USA? Anyway. Well worth a visit

Our first visit to this pub having often driven by Nice greeting on arrival and shown to the party. My husband and I met with family and friends eating in the function room rather than the bar. The room lacked any atmosphere but service was good. The bar in the room not manned which is attached to main bar. Food... More

Managed to get the table by the front door last minute after calling up on Sunday morning, upon arriving we'd been moved to a cosy table in the stables room due to a cancellation - winner :). Such a great Sunday Roast!! Brilliant service from all the staff & a crème brûlée worth breaking the diet for, thanks so much... More

Having been for a walk in the morning, which finished in the rain, we decided that we needed to dry out and warm up in a pub, and this was the first one we came across. We had a very friendly greeting and were told that as it was after 14.00 it was just the 'light bites' menu that was... More

We called in here on our travels and we're very surprised how good it was. The staff were great and very polite. The pub had a great atmosphere. We had a ploughman's lunch and cheesy chips to share. Everything was good on the plate , except one thing let it down. The dreaded part cooked, stodgy , doughy French style... More

It is always a good sign when you walk into a place called find it busy. Unfortunately this meant we were seated in the stables, which would have been fine if it weren't so cold. The service was pretty good, given the number of people in and arriving. The food was excellent and they have the smaller portions options for... More

This is my 4th visit and this pub never disappoints. Portions are large and food is great quality. The service was a little slow this time but is was a busy Saturday afternoon so we didn't mind. We had the cheese fondue to share as a starter which was lovely. It comes with grilled peppers, aubergines and courgettes as well... More

Wonderful food, wonderful service with helpful and knowledgable polite staff, popped in for light lunch, good quality food, can not find anything negative today, except you probably need to book, if you are not arriving at the start of service as seams very popular with locals and travellers alike
