A pleasant place for a cup of tea and house-made shortbread. The house is old but the decor is a bit ersatz vintage i.e.wallpaper which looks like rows of books. It has a so glistening ladies in white towelling robes may join you for a glass of fizz.

My wife and I had been given a Gift Voucher for afternoon tea at the Bishopstrow House Hotel. Shown quickly to our table and served with a pot of tea (real tea - no tea bags here!) before our food was delivered. Presentation OK, although chocolate/fudge shortcake was so, so sticky! Should have kept it in the fridge until served.... More

The sun definitely helps enjoyment at this hotel – the outside pool, eating outside, the grounds. However, it would have been a great stay anyway. The staff are friendly and helpful, the all-day food a great range to choose from, the swimming pools perfect. We’ll be back for another relaxing few days…

My wife and I enjoyed a great lunch after our spa day the only thing that let it down was the sparkling water served at lunch was not chilled.

Very disappointed. The sandwiches looked messy and just thrown on the plate, some the bread was dry as if it has been out for a long time. No alternative jams. Didn't find staff very friendly or attentive and also had to contend with others just there for afternoon drinks who were very loud. Not the best experience I have had... More

I booked the spring spa deal for my friends birthday. It was really lovely. Great surroundings fabulous two course lunch. I'm gluten and dairy free FODMAP diet and they made me a lovely lunch. Spa was relaxing and the massage the best I've had in a long while.

Stayed mid March just for one night. Trip was organised by my husband. The boy done good. Lovely hotel. We have a dog, which is why we chose this hotel. Our room was Hugh. It was in an adjoining building by the spa. It had no views to speak of but it did have a little garden just for us... More

We stopped in for an afternoon tea. Lovely venue. Good service - very quick. It was a bit overpriced but quite tasty. The sandwiches weren't very exciting but the scones (although a little over-cooked) were very tasty. The brownie was delicious and the other pastries were very good too.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. My mother and I came on 8th March as a Christmas present from my father and had a lovely time. We had a 2 course lunch in the package but we're very fussy with food so the receptionist called Tanya swapped it for afternoon tea which was lovely and a very nice gesture. The... More
