Recommended by fellow travellers and the B & B landlady. Had a very nice meal , a bit pricey but well worth it. Food was very nice and service was excellent. Would recommend this.

Lived in bath for past 3 years, always on the hunt for a great Sunday lunch when family visit. Have tried many places but this is by far the best! Great quality, portions and price. Only slight disappointment on today's visit was the lack of cauliflower cheese - last time it was part of the roast but they seem to... More

Appalling evening. Staff/chief could not accept perfectly reasonable criticism of burned/raw uneatable food, and reacted by bullying two customers in our 70s celebrating a birthday. Our very polite complaint was met with passive aggression, and clearly we were entirely at fault for having the cheek to complain. We were told that "this would be your last visit" when I asked... It was my Aunties 95th Birthday - and we decided to take her here, because she and her late husband together with my parents,( when they were alive ), used to dine here regularly in the past. And we have taken her here on a few occasions in 2016. Prior to arriving on the 20th February 2017. I called to... More

The pub, which has its own car park at the rear, is very traditional with a nice friendly vibe. We received a very warm welcome from the staff and also the glowing log burner too. Our party consisted of 3 and we ordered the Beef, Lamb and Pork roasts. Each meal came with a few really good slices of tender... More

We often come here and love it. There's a good atmosphere - half the(tiny) village are in here too, chatting comfortably. The food is great - mostly traditional but enough interesting others to keep us coming back. Of the daily specials one of my favourites is venison with mushroom risotto. And they always have the smoked haddock with a poached... More

Wonderful pub, easy access, good car park, lovely atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The food is of a very high quality, yet reasonably priced. Small wonder it is frequented by the locals.

Our party of three enjoyed a fabulous early dinner here mid week. We enjoyed the traditional country pub atmosphere and warm welcome from staff. The food was excellent , plenty of choice , well presented, plenty of it and reasonably priced. The dining area was blessed with an open fire which added to the atmosphere. The place was clearly popular... More

Local pub meets great cuisine. One of the finest chefs in the area leaves this pub/eatery in a league of its own. The steak is one of the finest I have ever eaten. Four legged friends get as warm a welcome as you and the friendly staff are always on hand. Full of nooks and crannies and open fires as... More

Always friendly. Good quality, tasty traditional food at a reasonable price. The staff are always helpful and pleasant, probably helped by the fact that it is a family run business.
