One of the really good things about the Cask-Marque Ale Trail, is if you want to turn those little pump handles on the apps map green (C-MAT followers will know what I mean) you've got to go off piste and ski on slopes not often travelled. And in so doing, one comes across real gems by way of establishments. Following... More

We chose this slightly out of the way village pub for a mid-week lunch and were not disappointed. The old exterior hides a bright, newly-decorated interior. The staff are extremely welcoming. We started with utterly delicious dishes of delicious hummous and mushrooms with aioli. We had spotted the brill with curried mussel chowder and had set our hearts on that,... More

Whilst staying locally at Burghope Manor, we were recommended to try the local pub for evening dinner. The warm and friendly welcome from the staff was great. They couldn't do enough and the service was top notch. The choice of food was very good and with hubby being gluten free, the options were fantastic for him. I tried the warm... More

Went in for lunch last week and as always, made very welcome. My husband ordered venison and declared it the best ever. I had a vegetarian Wellington which was really tasty! All in all we can't fault it.

Excellent service and food on a busy New Year's Day. Our waitress was professional and attended to our needs (table of 10 with kids). The food was of a high standard, locally sourced and well presented. The beer (4 real ales) was a bonus, well kept and each very different which is a present surprise. This was our first trip... We were a party of 9 who enjoyed food from The Christmas Menu at The Seven Stars on Sunday 18th December. We all had 3 courses at £22.50 a head which included coffee and a mince pie. There was plenty of choice and we pre-ordered during the week to ensure we all got our preferred selection. Our table was ready... More

I took my boyfriend here for a little Friday night treat. The decor was lovely and cosy, and the tables had some trivia pursuit cards at the table which was a nice touch (most definitely not from the kids section though). We had 3 courses and each was fantastic. My starter was enough for a main and the main meal... More

Where better to dine than The Seven Stars,& having suggested this for a W.I . Christmas lunch, I felt embarrased to have made the suggestion, which caused so much disapointment. From past experience guaranteed perfection. From todays' experience.....failure. This has always been THE place to dine, & until now never disappoints...but...today ticked all the boxes of being memorable for all of... More

We booked a table for Sunday evening. A really pleasant welcoming arrival especially at Christmas time. The food (we had roast dinners) was piping hot, well cooked with good quality ingredients, there was plenty of it and it was nicely presented. The service was also excellent. A nice touch to have the quiz cards at the table. We will return!
