My sisters and I bought lunch here today. The building and garden are beautiful and the waiter was so attentive and really sweet. We ordered soup and lasagna and both were delicious and reasonably priced. We finished with cake and tea which were also lovely. This place is full of character and it's worth visiting Bradford on Avon just to... More

Coffee shop that only serves filter coffees. Earl Grey was weak and lemonade from a large bottle was flat. Leak and potato soup tasteless but served nicely hot. Screen saver in the fireplace is odd and the lighting Heath Robinson. A trip to the bathroom up a well worn staircase reveals a 1970s avocado suite which whilst clean has a... More

Friendly, efficient service from man dressed in 16th century breeches and shirt. He took our order using a quill pen. The building is old and delapidated. Toilet would not flush immediately after the person before me.

Hard to know what to make of this place. The garden was splendid as it was a fine day but the atmosphere was diminished by the green plastic chairs. Similarly the coffee room inside is beautiful but why spoil a 18th century fireplace with a TV screen of a fire? The kitsch theme continues with the avocado bathroom (complete with... More

This truly is a strange place! Nothing wrong with the coffee but as other reviewers have commented there are some odd touches such as the the tv screen in fireplace. This is an old building but it really is in a bad way, especially the stairs and bathroom.

We settled ourselves in for tea and cake after a very long walk. It was difficult to find a table to accommodate five adults but we squeezed on to a table by the window. The room was dingy, the cloth was dirty but it was the state of the avocado bathroom that sent us running out. Like a previous reviewer,... More

called in after a walk and it is a quirky place and 5 booths and seating outside if weather permits - choice is simple and makes a change - saves on too much choice and things running out at the end of the day - value for tea and tea cakes at £4.50 - it is towards the train station... More

Found this lovely little coffee house purely by chance. Friendly welcome on entering into what seemed like someone's private home. Sat in the last available comfy little booth; there are 5 in total with seating outside if weather permits. I had a cup of coffee and home baked scone with 'proper' clotted cream - delicious. The 70s avocado bathroom suite... More

We have been here several times over the years, it is quirky and if you want a good cup of coffee or tea in quirky, unusual surroundings , this is the place. No fast food , lattes but good wholesome food ser4ved in a 17th century room or outside in the garden if weather permits. The slightly warm ginger cake... More
