We had researched the bear on the internet before going and we were looking forward to trying the famous pies along with the range of ales. We called in for a quick drink and to enquire as to whether we needed to reserve a table...More

Sorry about your disappointment, it's only just recently we gave up on gluten free pies after four years, but we sold only about 1% of our pies in this form and for every one we sold we had to dispose of 4, so not only...More

Very disappointed that we were not allowed to order one meal to share between us. I have a small appetite so did not want a full meal. Ended up going elsewhere to eat.

Great pies and the warned cooking time was slightly longer than it took. Watch out when football and rugby on the TV is on very loud. The venison and blueberry pie was fantastic.

Had the venison and blueberry pie, which was amazing and even the 'regular' pie was big! The atmosphere is great and they allow dogs!

Just simply amazing! Friendly staff,a fully stocked bar including lots of cider, the most fantastic and a warm, cosy feel. The standard pies are enough to satisfy even the biggest appetite, but the large pies are certainly worth the wait!
