We were staying nearby and came here for a meal. It was very quiet, no other diners, the bar was busy. Our food was delicious. We had bread, olive oil, dips etc to nibble on. The bread was lovely. For my main course I had...More

We held our daughter's wedding reception here last Friday. It was wonderful! From the moment they spoke to Greg about what they wanted,( locally sourced, good quality, home cooked food) he really listened and came back with some ideas that they hadn't thought of. Good...More

Held a wake here and Greg and team provided a great buffet and excellent service all round. We had a back room to ourselves which opens up into the garden which made it a lovely venue. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you so much for your lovely message. It means a lot, that the community is enjoying the pub again. A Public House is just a house without you, the public making it your home away from home (or at least a place to escape...More

WELCOME TO THE HARP & CROWN A BEAUTIFUL PUB, WITH SUPERB 'HOME' MADE FOOD, GREAT ALES, WINES AND CIDERS AND ALL SERVED IN A FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER The beautiful village of Gastard sits in the countryside four miles outside of Chippenham. Despite having a few name changes over the years, Gastard was finally settled on in 1875. we like to think the Harp and Crown has changed how they have done things since 1875! From the days of being an inn for highway men or travellers it is now a pub which welcomes a very different kind of traveller. Some from as far afield as Melksham, Bath, Chippenham and beyond! They come to enjoy a range of well-kept real ales, excellent wines, local ciders and also the fantastic menu of home-made food. The Harp and Crown pub is a precious jewel in the crown of this beautiful English countryside. With well kept gardens for the Summer and roaring fires for the Winter, very few pubs offer as warm a welcome than The Harp and Crown.
