Wonderful service and excellent food. Staff so attentive and chefs really care about the food. Husband recommends the fish and ships and I couldn't eat all of my beef baguette even though it was absolutely delicious.

The burgers are incredible. Ill often pop in for a pint on the way home from work and sit outside and people watch. Great staff and attentive. Had lunch here a few times and every time the burgers were sensational. Tasty, filling, and the value...for money is top notch. Great pub, great food. Love itMore
Not a very pleasant experience all things considered. Very cold inside due to customers propping the doors open, very dark (phone torch needed to view the menus!) kitchen doors open for all to see the meals being microwaved - shame they didn’t leave ours in...for another couple of minutes as it was cold! Complained to the staff who didn’t offer any sympathy - probably as they were very understaffed. Ovoid!More
Called in looking for a decent pu decent drinks ans fantastic staff We found it . Slight problem became. A little cold outside so moved inside . Lovely guy found us a table that was free for next 2 hours to allow us to enjoy...our day. PLEASE DONT SACK HIM WE SPENT IN EXCESS OF 45 POUNDS AND LEFT AS WE PROMISED . this is the pub to visitMore
Me & my friend dined here tonight. I had the lamb & mint pie. It was absolutely delicious. The service & food are top noth. I really like the decor too. Will definitely recommend to friends & family 😊
Lovely pub with absolutely fantastic food. Everything we order was delicious, from the burgers to the haggis to the lamb shank - and the scallop starters were incredible 👍 great choice of well keep beers, including a few high-end craft beers in the fridge, and...a great choice of spirits. We’ll definitely be returning 😃More
I'm not one easily pleased but the steak and Stilton pie with chips and Mushy peas I have just eaten was fantastic. Worth every penny of 15 quid. With great real ale this is a slice of heaven
A traditional pub with a really tasty and reasonably-priced menu. Four of us had different lunch meals and all were spot on. The chef is a proper chef….not the usual foodservice stuff. Very knowledgeable staff and food comes from local sources. Beware the voodoo burger...with HOT chilli sauce! We had a table outside and could not have picked a better spot. Will return.More
I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff have always been lovely and polite. The beer is kept well and they have a great selection. This is bar far the best boozer in Chesterfield town centre.
Myself and my friend called for breakfast @ 12pm one Sunday and were very disappointed. It wasn't busy when we got there and yet had to wait an age before our food was served. Unfortunately it was stone cold when it arrived, which a full...English shouldn't be of course. Neither of us finished our meals and when i came to pay by card they tried several times before i was told there was something wrong with their internet. Fortunately i had the cash on me to settle up and leave, knowing full well i will not return because the price wasn't cheap and have a cooked meal served hot can't be too much to ask for.More
The Market Pub Inviting looking and offering a great range of ales but offering zero warning that they only take cash payments after you have been served which causes lots of good beer to be thrown away. On my second of two nights in the...town I did have some cash so I returned and found the quality of the ale truly excellent. They really need to recognise the use of plastic though. Super hidden gem! Amazing gin choices and the food is homemade and really tasty! - definitely worth a visit
Great family run pub with nice atmosphere. Fabulous food all home-made. Local produce. Good selection of real ales.
Unexpected stop on a journey home. Friendly bar staff great beers and quality food. The beef baguette and homemade chips were excellent. Great atmosphere and value. Cash only!
Nipped in for burger and a pint midday. Food was brilliant and they did a great deal for 2 burgers ( I think it was about 16 quid). Only down side is that it is cash only.
