Lovely home cooked Sunday Lunch. Nice alternative to the usual 'chain ' pubs in the Town centre. Bonus for me was a selection of my face Real Ales also.

Went for brunch, a veggie one and meat one. Both superb, freshly cooked and well presented. Excellent service. Will definitely recommend and will go back

The Royal Oak has an excellent drink selection, including interesting gins I have never seen before and Birra Moretti on draught. Friendly staff and wonderful atmosphere in this old pub!

Used to be one of my favourite pubs in Chesterfield. Gone downhill recently. Beer not served as well and really unwelcoming atmosphere.

Only went in for beer but ended up having something to eat too. The ploughmans was big enough for 2 to share and a third person to finish off. The chips looked twice cooked - nice. Lovely place and will be going back

We are THE Oldest Pub in Chesterfield. Reputedly built in the 12th Century, and formally an Inn for the Knights Templar, the Royal Oak is bursting with character and can be found in the Long Shambles, adjacent to Chesterfield Market and opposite The Body Shop.
