I came here years ago and decided to visit again after moving back to the area. The pub is nice and food good however the bar team were efficient but not at all friendly. This is a real shame as it would make this a great place to visit.

My wife and I have eaten here several times but not for a long time. We were on a journey across the Pennines and called in here for old times sake and to see if the previously good experiences still existed. The food was really very good indeed, but the service was poor. Tables were not cleared or cleaned and... More

Having been disappointed at the Riverside House restaurant we enjoyed an excellent pub lunch. With good service, a log fire, friendly staff and a good atmosphere the food was excellent. Well worth a trip!

The Bulls Head is small, cosy and keeps a good range of beers. Game casserole was served lukewarm but was thick as it had little gravy - should not have been necessary for a casserole. Also it took a long time to be served after ordering. Only small pieces of meat were in the casserole and it did not taste... More

Was staying nearby on holiday. Have stayed previously in the village but never visited this pub. Had a couple of excellent lunches here. Sat by the fire which was cosy. Enjoyed listening to some of the local characters. Very enjoyable place to spend some time.

Visited once when staying in the village. My husband recommends a pint of Wizard! Recommend a visit if you are passing.
