Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had lunch in the Miner’s and were hugely impressed. The welcome from the landlord (who took over quite recently) was warm and genuine. He served a very well-kept pint of TT Landlord’s bitter. Food was fresh, hot and tasty including locally-sourced pepper’s pies which...were awesome. We will certainly return to the Miner’s at Brassington for a meal or simply a friendly pint!More

Our second visit to eat here, both very enjoyable for the company and the food. Staff and locals are all welcoming and the food is good quality, home cooked pub food classics. Will definitely return.

The Miners Arms is exactly what a village local should be. Warm, cosy, friendly and with good food. We have stayed in Brassington before, so know the pub. A perfect Sunday afternoon sat with friendly people, eating a cracking roast dinner, watching the footy. Wish...we had this as our local pub.More

We were staying in Brassington for a few days and thought we would try out the local pub. As soon as we walked in,we were warmly greeted by Trevor, Julie and Ronnie their dog! We ate there on 2 of our 3 nights and the...food was amazing. Home cooked food, reasonably priced and delicious - huge portions too! Definitely recommend the steak & stilton pie ❤️ My teenage children were also welcomed & we even stayed for the Saturday night quiz & 'sticky 13s' which was so much fun. Great atmosphere, friendly and home-cooked comfort food- what's not to like!More

Booked here for dinner after a day National Trusting with my parents. My dad is a very fussy eater so we have to find somewhere that does traditional British pub grub with a decent pint. Well The Miners Arms fitted the bill perfectly with their...obviously home cooked traditional fayre. Simple food done really well. We all enjoyed our meals with the only disappointment being too full to sample the gorgeous looking homemade desserts on offer! My dad was very happy with his Marston’s Pedigree so success all round. Lovely friendly staff and customers.More

Called in after a day walking the Limestone Way. Greeted by that beautiful ambiance that you cannot find in many places. The landlord was welcoming which is always good start. This place is a hidden gem. The pies are wonderful. They keep a scoreboard on...the wall of all the available pies because they tend to disappear so quickly. We both had minted lamb pie & chips with a jug of gravy each. So delicious we came back the next day and had the same again! Fabulous place. (The beer is good too.)More

We ate at the Miners Arms a couple of times during our week in Brassington. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The kids loved the dog and kept them entertained! The home cooked food was delicious and the portions were huge, especially the puddings. We ended...up taking it home with us. There were also huge homemade sausage rolls that tempted us up on the bar, which we couldn't resist and of course didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend the Miners.More

A really wonderful pub! A proper pub. Great beer and great food. The landlord and landlady couldn’t be friendlier. We stayed in Brassington for a couple of nights and fell in love with the Miners’ Arms. Clientele are also very friendly. Keep an eye out...for Ronnie the dog too. He’s very cute indeed! Definitely worth a visit! Reasonably priced too!More

What a fantastic find we were staying about a mile from brassington for a weeks holiday, we visited on the first night of our stay and returned another twice during the week. Firstly we received such a lovely warm and friendly welcome from the staff...and locals. The food was fantastic, good home cooking and very good value. A varied menu but do try the meat pies. If you are staying near Brassington do visit the Miners Arms, do not bother to try anywhere else. Thanks to all for making our holiday so pleasant and enjoyableMore

Wonderful hospitality on my mother's 80th birthday. Having been let down at the last minute by another pub in the village, we (a party of 7) walked in off the street and were catered for with no prior warning, we were made to feel most...welcome. The landlord even managed to arrange a superb surprise birthday cake without being asked and didn't want payment for !! The food was delicious, as was the cake, the portions were most generous and prices very reasonable. It's so heart warming and brought a tear to our eyes to see such humanity in a failing world. Thank you so much you made my mother's 80th very special.More

Warm welcome from Trev and Ronnie, how nice to go to a pub that serves pub grub with a homely welcome rather than claiming to be a 'gastro pub'. Our break in Brassington was unfortunately cut short, so we missed out on the Wednesday Chinese...night. Hope to return in the future for an enjoyable home cooked meal.More
