Came to Ripon for 2 nights and decided to revisit the Royal Oak having been before. The food was superb as it was during our first visit. The place has a very warm feel and friendly staff. I would recommend the sticky Ripon beef and...More

The Royal Oak is not your typical pub. There are several rooms to choose from and seating can be at standard tables or even in comfortable armchairs. The rooms are brightly decorated, cheerful and very clean. The food more than matches the premises - best...More

We visited for a family lunch in January and weren't disappointed. Excellent Whitby haddock and chips, which had a choice of small or large portions (the small portion was quite big enough for the senior citizens in the party). Puddings (especially the orange cheesecake) were...More

Wouldn't recommend it at all. Waited 90 minutes between starter and main meal which when came consisted off six Luke warm chips and a smaller cheese burger than you can get at macdonalds all for £10.95. Never again.
