A continental coffee shop for grown ups! The best coffee, fine scrambled egg, home made cakes, warm croissants and a warmer welcome. We are located near Gainsborough Museum with free parking outside for your visit. Open from 9.30am - 2.30pm Tuesday to Saturday for delicious breakfasts and that much needed coffee to help you survive the day. Lunch time specials are made daily using seasonal produce sourced locally and we try to keep our menu items as healthy as possible. I called by for a Take-away coffee, even behind my face mask I could smell something seriosly good eminating from the Kitchen.
I decided to stay for Lunch, I had the most delicious Open Steak snadwidch, with Toasted Soda Bread, garnished with Mushrooms and Cherry Tomatoes in a Sauce made by Simon. Well sated,

Popped in for elevenses while visiting Sudbury for the day. The decor is relaxed with shelves of books. David serves a delightful lose tea. I fancied something light to eat and asked if they would do me a beans on toast. No trouble and the bread was lovely. After I could not resist a piece of lemon drizzle cake which was yummy. All very good value. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
We are not from the area but if we returned I would pop in again.

This bistro is an excellent little family business which offers superb cooked foid, coffee,wine and cakes. Also newspapers, books and even dvds.
The family that run it are absolutely marvelous and know you by name
We love coming here. Its our personal secret favourite.

Went in for lunch and ordered drinks and food. Drinks arrived promptly. Waited and waited for food. After 25 minutes we were informed meals would be another 10 minutes. David had apparently been chatting with other guests and when he eventually returned to kitchen he forgot to turn the oven on again. The waitress apologised and kindly waived the bill for the soft drink. We left really disappointed and had a delicious lunch in Painters opposite.

I am not happy, when I should no better. I can't apologise enough for this terrible oversight which at the end of a very busy service has made me aware that even I make the occasional mistake. I have been in the service industry all my life and have won numerous awards. The most important rule in hospitality is to look after the customer. Maybe it is time for me to take a back seat. I am just glad that you were looked after over the road and that your day was not completely ruined.

Absolutely amazing food!!
I’ve had the steak from here twice now, once in restaurant and also tonight as takeaway. Me and my partner ordered two steaks, one as medium rare and one as rare, both cooked to perfection. Lovely staff, very welcoming.
Good quality food but not too pricey.
Would also like to add we came from hedingham and was very impressed the food was still piping hot.

So now after having breakfast and dinner from David's, its safe to say we will definitely will be returning!! the veggie lasagne is amazing! The scampi is super tasty and filling. All our food was beautifully cooked, still hot once arriving home with it. Great service. Thank you to you all.

I was in Sudbury Suffolk last night looking for somewhere to relax and eat, with a friend, we were returning home to Surrey/West Sussex after my friend had visited her dad who lives locally. When we found David's Cafe - Bistro - Bar. A truly amazing place, lovely relaxed atmosphere with two delightful hosts, David and Trish.
We were greeted like old friends, shown to a table with very comfortable leather chairs and then we ordered our food and drinks. My friend Sandra had a a chicken burger which she said was delicious and I tried one of David's individual fish pie. Well oh my goodness was that a truly sensational thing to do ! It was packed with fish, just the right size and served with grilled asparagus. It absolutely melted in my mouth. I also tried David's cheese board and I can't recommend it enough.
All in all the atmosphere, our hosts their delicious food and glorious black coffee made for the perfect ending to a long tiring day. I for one will definitely be heading back to David's. Thank you both David and Trish for your hospitality and exceptional service.👍👏👏👏

Visited here with friends for coffee and scones at about 11.30 am. Our order was taken and the coffee arrived. We had finished our coffee having added plenty of sugar to take some of the bitterness away, but the scones didn't arrive by the time that we wanted to leave.
When paying the member of staff was told that we had not received our scones. There was no apology just "there in the oven" presumably because we asked that they be warmed.
Would not think of going here again.

This is the best for coffee, snacks ,and breakfast in Sudbury.
Very good friendly service ,the owner David is always there ready to talk to the customers, and to help and advise.
All the food is freshly cooked to order, the fresh sausage rolls in the morning - are the best. Also the range of scones.

The best coffee and food in Sudbury ,very friendly service all food fresh or freshly cooked.
Good and reasonable prices, if available the sausage rolls are the best ,hot and just cooked.
We do not go anywhere else ,a regular stopping point

We have recently moved to Sudbury and are still finding our way around. Went to the market today and stopped off at Davids for an early lunch/brunch We had the eggs benedict and smoked salmon and scrambled eggs both of which were delicious and the coffee was great. We will definitely be back as we want to try some of the cakes on display!

We visited David’s twice over the last weekend, whilst visiting Sudbury. We enjoyed our lunch so much the first day that we returned the next day for round two! On both occasions we had salads- grilled goats cheese and a blue cheese salad. Both had a lovely mix of ingredients and were freshly prepared. I also tried the avocado, tomato and mushrooms on toast which was equally tasty. We would def return if in the area.

Sat outside had light breakfast. Coffee was delicious and the almond croissant fresh and tasty. The was a restaurant but we did not try this as not open at our visiting time. Worth visiting for a light breakfast. NB there were other breakfast offers

As a party of 7 we very much enjoyed lunch on Saturday 11th March.
Sudbury is very fortunate to have a very different and individual venue and the food prepared by David was excellent.
Very welcoming too. David and his team are extremely pleasant and the feeling of warmth was much in evidence.
While my daughter who lives in Sudbury has enjoyed visits before there was the first time my wider family have been and we will definitely return.

So today I rang up david's ordered me and my children burgers and chips.
Service was fast and super convenient as I didn't even need to get out the car.
Once I got home I got stuck into the burger and I have got to say it was one of the tastiest things I've ever eaten. So much flavor that transformed a burger into some thing absolutely divine. I 100% recommend u try it. My belly feels full and very happy. Proper top notch quality food.
