About
On the food side, the emphasis is on good quality, seasonal produce and, wherever possible, we source it locally. We are delighted to have been awarded an AA rosette for our food. Our breakfast menu includes Newmarket sausages, Suffolk bacon, our own hen’s eggs and smoked salmon from the smokery at our sister pub. We love Sunday lunch and offer a great roast – bring the family or meet up with friends and catch up on your week.

Went to the restaurant limited menu choice but brillant food. Had a mushroom suet pudding best thing I have tasted in a long time. Would recommend trying this place. Should have taken a picture.

We were in the area and wanted a light lunch. reviews led us here and we were not disappointed. We had grilled caprese sandwich (focaccia) with garlic fries and a curried mussel soup with crispy monkfish. Not the cheapest, but absolutely excellent. the menu changes...every two weeks, so you might not find either of these items available. Complemented by very nicely served beers from Brewshed, which is from just down the road. We're unlikely to be eating in the area again, but if we were I'd have no hesitation in returningMore

Another gorgeous meal at The Cadogan today. I had the lambs liver with lambs belly which was just amazing. I would choose this again without a doubt. Others in our group had roast beef, roast pork and steak which we know are always good too....All followed by a fab sticky toffee pudding with lots of sauce. Excellent service as ever. Thanks to all for the perfect Sunday lunch.More

On our journey home, turned up at 6pm without booking, they happily found a table for us. Not crammed in, doors open, so good ventilation. Food was superb, highly recommended, service great too.

If I could give my stay less than 1 star I would. My check-in and nights stay were fine or so I thought until I went to check out in the morning. I attempted to leave at 9.30 and found I was unable to open...the room door. I made several attempts but couldn't get it open, it was a Yale night latch so I thought it must be something I was doing wrong, so I video called my partner for assistance (he works in building maintenance) and he confirmed the lock was jammed (see photo). Although I am unhappy the lock was not in good working order, I appreciate these things can happen. However, to my horror when I called the hotel for assistance the phone went to answer machine. I called several times because they may have been busy and missed my first call. No answer. It was nearly 10am, guest check out time, so I decided to bang on the room door as a passing guest my hear and alert someone. No one heard, then just after 10am I heard footsteps past the room door so I banged on the door louder and harder to try and attract someone's attention, but know one came. I was alone in the room so started to panic, I went to the window to see if there was anyone outside to help. I managed to get one of the windows opened and eventually I saw a man coming out of what I thought was an adjoining property. I asked him if he could contact someone in reception because I was stuck in my room. To my surprise he said he could get me out. He came up with the key and opened the door. I explained that it had been jammed and he would have a look. At NO point did he offer me an apology, when I said that I had rang reception and there was no answer, he said there was someone on site. I went on to explain that I had banged on the door quite violently to attract attention and to my astonishment a lady (I think the cleaner) who was standing in the hallway, said she only started at 10am and had heard the banging "but did not know what was going on"!!!! Did not know what was going on?!?! Someone is banging on a a room door, which isn't a normal thing do, and you don't think to alert someone or check on the welfare of your guests!!!! I could have been being attacked in the room!!!! What if there was a fire and this had happened in the middle of the night? I would have been trapped in the room, no way to contact anyone at the hotel (the answer machine did not even have a number to call in an emergency). Its a DEATH TRAP and needs to be investigated and I will be taking it further with the appropriate authorities. No apology from whomever that was that finally let me out of the room, lacking basic empathy or concern for your guests. It's disgraceful and in my personal view until they can guarantee the personal safety of their guests, people should NOT be staying here.More

We hadn’t visited for a while and I was fairly amazed that I could get a table so easily for a Saturday but I should not have worried. The food was sublime and the staff were lovely, professional, friendly and very efficient. I could not...fault a thing. My Mum of nearly 92 was impressed by the quality of the napkins too! I so wanted to get to a pudding but after starter and main was unable to do so - maybe next time! My sea bass main was out of this world and my husband really enjoyed his steak. The blue cheese rarebit with poached egg and walnuts was stunning too. It was all gorgeous and for £21 for two courses and £26 for three, fantastic value for money. We had the Italian white at £18.50 a bottle which was also delicious and not overpriced. Will definitely be returning as had the best time and the very best food.More

We had a friend visiting from the West Country and although regulars at the One Bull (sister venue) we decided on here as the overall menu was more appealing and had also had very good meals here before. Couldn't fault the service and starters excellent...however the beef was overcooked and not the best. Far from the pink usually served. Fortunately our guest had the pork which looked fine. Good veg selection.More
