We popped in on spec and found the staff very friendly and the food plentiful and delicious. Cosy ambience with a pull obviously to all nationalities, as we were joined by Americans, Dutch, French and Italians in the end. Mike

Had lovely dinner, food was delicious, I loved the scampies and prawns in garlic sauce as a starter and a fabulous steak. My wife had chowder, could have done with a bit more cream and chicken as main course. Ambience and atmosphere great as always. Reservation is a must!!

This was one of the best steaks we've ever eaten. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and tender. We had filet mignon. Don't miss out on the The potatoes au gratin either. Highly recommend this restaurant.

You'd think from the outside that this was just a Main Street pub but we were drawn in by a sandwich board outside advertising some excellent specials on the dinner menu. The low lighting and small front windows give this restaurant, with a small front bar, an intimacy that you'd have never guessed from it's exterior. Better still, the choice... More

I walked around the town a couple of times looking for a place that wasn't too big, wast too small, wasn't too loud, and wasn't too quiet. I was just about to give up and go home when I remembered that I had passed the Horseshoe on my way into town, and I'm happy to say, it was the Goldilocks... More

I have travelled the world and this is my number 1 restaurant! Every time I eat here it is just a pure joy! I have never tasted food like it. I get excited when I know I'm going for dinner here, something that doesn't happen often! Monkfish is my favourite, I have no words to describe how amazing it is.... More

Went for dinner here as friends raved about it. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Very limited choice for kids. I ordered the special spainish chicken which i was told was spicy. I wish it had been. My dish was so bland and desite adding copious amount of pepper i couldn't improve it. Didnt eat much and informed staff they... More

We had a lovely family meal here on the last night of our holiday. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The food was of the highest quality....so much so that we have booked again for a return visit at the end of October.

I have eaten here before with friends, but last night came with my partner. I must say, once again, I was extremely impressed. The staff were incredibly attentive and the food was delicious. I had a steak which was cooked perfectly, and for dessert I had the strawberry pavlova which was to die for. I honestly would highly recommend this... More

In the past the horseshoe was creme de la creme. They used to serve a little loaf of brown bread on a board that you sliced yourself prior to stater which was so unique. This changed to some sliced bread and beautiful tapenade n pesto which is now omitted completely. With the amount of 5 star eateries now in kenmare... More
