While the menu is a bit lack luster upon first read, the food and staff are amazing. Try the farmhouse chese plate with some apple chutney, the open faced crab sandwich, and the apple pork sausage plate with a few local pints. Perfect lunch!

We ate here several times over the course of a week in Kenmare and that probably says it all. We were limited to late lunches rather than evening meals as we have two young kids but there are plenty of very good restaurants in Kenmare...More

We had a lovely lunch here last week. The food is good as is the service. It is one of the top restaurants in Kenmare without doubt.

My ham, cheese and apple chutney sandwiches were so fresh that I am telling you about them. This is such an olde worlde restaurant, incredible decor, a must visit and very friendly Irish staff as ever!

We have visited Kenmare on several occasions, and we always have wonderful lunches at The Purple Heather. Grainne and her staff never disappoint with their great food and wonderful hospitality. Their recipe for seafood soup is the best; we never get enough of it! Our...More

Lovely house converted into a restaurant just up the hill from the center of the town. Beautiful, rustic decore. The food was outstanding! I would love to have it near me now!

Food and service excellent. Up scale bar food. Enjoy. It's along the main street so it's easy to find. Was recommended by a native as she was whisking back to somewhere with a sandwich in her hand.

Best lunch so far in Ireland. The cashew blue open sandwich had the most delicious accompaniments. Fabulous crab salad. Highly recommended.

We just had lunch there. The best Scones I have ever tasted. We had Crab Cocktail and an Omelette - both lovely. The owned Grainne O'Connell was wonderfully friendly and helpful.
