The title is courtesy of a chap leaving the restaurant with his wife just in front of me. I agree with him. It was a sunny day when we arrived and left, and this place just looks stunning bathed in warm sunshine. There was a waft of light breeze as we walked in, an autumnal windy whisper from our mother... Myself and my family have eaten here on numerous occasions and the food is always delicious. Big portions too which is always a plus! The staff are lovely and it's great value for money.

We eat here regularly. The food is always top class as is the service. I find it is better to book first though as the place never stops. Both the lunch menu and the a la carte are excellent. The price is extremely reasonable especially considering the quality of the food and the service. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had a fab dinner here yesterday. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, lovely setting. We had the 4 course set menu which costs €25pp. Plenty of choices for each course. Very good value for money. Our server was very good also. Would definitely recommend and plan to return soon.

The Grain Store Restaurant is a separate, distinct part of the Darver Castle property. This review should be seen as separate from the wedding functions at Darver Castle. We ate at this restaurant twice (party of four and a party of six) during our time in Ireland and had a fine experience both times. Everyone in our two parties really... More

We went here for our wedding anniversary in December. We had been looking forward to the castle setting and had expected it might be a bit like Cabra Castle, but we ended up being a bit underwhelmed by the restaurant surroundings. You come in a side entrance, up some stairs and into an area that feels more pub/carvery-ish, than like... More

I cannot fault this place, EVER !! The quality and quantity of food that is even on the set menu is fantastic and I have never had a bad experience here. I feel at times the staff are under pressure but manage well. The tables at times can be placed too close together but otherwise the set up is brilliant.... More
