Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had dinner at L' Arco Italian Restaurant while staying in Ballyvaughan during our trip to Ireland this summer. It sits back in a courtyard off of the main street. We had made a reservation and were seated after waiting a few minutes. The atmosphere...is pleasant with an open concept. The bar is visible from the dining area. Our waitress appeared to be learning the job as she had to ask for assistance from others to answer our questions about the menu. I ordered a pasta dish with seafood and my husband had taglitelle with salmon. It took longer than we expected for the meals to be served. food was okay. We also were surprised that a salad was not included given the prices of the meals. There was an error on the bill which the cashier was able to rectify once we informed her.More

Recently visited this Italian restaurant & were very disappointed with our dining experience here. I had lasagne which was bland, all sticky mucky cheese, very little minced beef served with a small side salad. My partner opted for carmella pasta dish which was supposed to...be pasta filled with mushroom & garlic creamy filling topped with parmesan. This dish was totally without flavour, & the parmesan was like fine sawdust. A total waist of money. A front of house staff who displayed a couldn't care less attitude, no one asked if we enjoyed the meal or not, just a dismal experience all round, & very pricey for what you got. We opted for crisps in the local pub later which were much tastier than our meal in Larco.More

Problems were as follows: clearing plate contents onto one plate at table in front of customers, inattention, aloofness by one staff member. Food quality varied between different days as if chefs had different standards but was tasty and excellent. More attention to consistency and customer...service would greatly improve things. A welcome/warmth would be good.More

Lovely restaurant lovely food and lovely friendly staff however we won’t be back L’Arco needs to review their policy on charging for extras. I requested some Parmesan to sprinkle on my pasta dish which the waitress duly brought and at the same time telling me...it would cost an extra 90cent My son got a pizza and we were charged €1.50 extra for some pepperoni Albeit small amounts the dishes were pricey enough quite disappointingMore

Quite simply the worst service I've ever had in any kind of restaurant in Ireland. Seems like the adults have left a bunch of kids run a restaurant with absolutely no training whatsoever. Although the restaurant was almost empty I was seated right next to...the open door . Basic questions about the menu, fazed my 'waiter' with one word responses of What ? Why ? mainly No.. The look of bafflement when I asked are there onions in the dish .. why would ask such a thing ! I decided on a pizza to be safe, which was mediocre and stodgy. There was zero phone signal so I asked the 'waiter' for the wifi code.. one word answer ' NO ' ... okay then .. as I sat down and watched the blinking lights on their wifi router staring at me. I ate what I could, as quickly as I could and left . I know its hard to get staff in rural Ireland, but the owners of this restaurant need to give the kids some basic training ...More

Very disappointed. Glass with chip on it on table. Lighting was very dark and staff were extremely unwelcoming. Ordered lasagne and it was the worst lasagne I have ever eaten, way too much cheese it felt like eating a load of melted mozzeralla with no...flavour. They over charged us in the end. Definitely won’t be going again.More

We stopped late afternoon just to have some desserts having let the giant lunch portions we got from another restaurant in Ballyvaughan go down. Ice cream is ice cream, the calzone portion was ridiculously large but the taste was good. Service was adequate but I...found the ambiance very bland, it's a big open space a bit like a barn.More

The food was ok but not much more than that. In view of that we found the €110 for 2 meals with little alcohol a little on the heavy side. A small but irritating thing was the cutlery…..would have barely cut through butter.

Pizzas were v good but avoid the pasta with salmon. I often order this and expected it would be good There was little evidence of any salmon in the dish it was most disappointing so I wouldn’t return here again.

We got take-out pizza and chips from L'Arco and loved it. Watch for the small sign, as this place is located in behind the The Hyland's Burren Restaurant.

Food was poor and served in a very rough & ready manner. Like a previous reviewer, we opted for the kebab shop in the village on our second night: the kebab (veggie) was delicious & in a different league to L'Arco. Most certainly would not...recommend l'arco.More

The place was very busy. Seriously overcrowded in fact. It was cram packed, tables squashed together, ear splittingly noisy and clearly set up to maximise profit regardless of their capacity to cope and cope was exactly what they could not do. There was a musician...in one corner who may have been talented and must have been quite demoralised because nobody could hear her music. Under the circumstances it only added to the din. We had a booking and arrived on time. It was at least half an hour before our order was taken and well over an hour before we got anything at all to eat. Not even a basket of bread to take the edge off our appetite. So we waited in extreme discomfort. Others who arrived after us were served before us. The organisation was chaotic. By the time our first course arrived I just wanted out of the place. When it did arrive it actually tasted fine, not that anybody checked or seemed to care. L'Arco could be ok but they badly need to understand the limits of their capacity to provide an acceptable dining experience and stick to them.More
