Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delicious coffees with the perfect views. Plenty of seating outside the shack . Great choice of hot drinks and coffee varieties with good choice of traybakes

SO DISAPPOINTING! Where have the amazing toasties gone?? They used to be amazing now they’re very sad indeed. Two pieces of mass produced white sliced pan with a bit of mass produced cheese. I asked for relish & the response was the title of this...review! They said it’s to keep it simple and reduce the queue. Guess what you have succeeded!! Mind you the coffee is still decent but don’t waste your time driving here for the famous toastie cos it’s Gone Gone Gone . Have to say smiles behind the counter also seem to have gone with those toasties😕More

Very overrated coffee and unfriendly staff. Has a captive customer base being the only catering beside a busy beach and car parking area.

Having visited a few times for coffee over the past 18 months, expected the usual coffee standard and drove 6km for the coffees. However, both flat whites on this occasion were discarded as undrinkable. We didn’t return the undrinkable coffees to request a refund because...the service we received upon purchasing the order was a little unpleasant at best and as we were celebrating a birthday we didn’t want to further ruin our morning by raising a complaint with an already unpleasant service experience upon purchasing the coffees. Won’t return again to The Shack due to the disappointing service and undrinkable flat white coffees purchased on 09/04/2023. I was first in queue to place an order and this was around 9:10am happily awaiting the business to open even though the advertised opening hours stated 9:00am online. The barista was not only unpleasant (possibly due to a customer queue) but served us 2 undrinkable flat whites (one with oat milk) that we both later discarded upon tasting. Both flat whites weren’t even a similar volume of contents with one a quarter of a cup less contents - which is just sloppy as both were flat whites.. Unfortunately the undrinkable coffee on this occasion means we won’t return.More

A quirky beach shack coffee shop on the roadside at Marble Hill Beach. Lovely hot coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice are real thirst quenchers . There’s limited bench seats adjacent to the Shack and also across the road, overlooking the beach. The staff are..., fast , friendly and efficient . Products are the typical café fare of cakes buns, etc . However , there are smoothies and fruit bowls on offer. Ok, they aren’t the cheapest …. but with a view like that and the Donegal hospitality , who’s complaining ??? A lovely spot, lovely offerings, well worth a visit . Donegal Council …. Get the nearby toilet facilities sorted !!!!More

T/his is a gem in this area. We almost didn't go because of some negative reviews but we would have really missed out! Everything was perfect--the food was amazing--sea bass for me and rack of lamb for him. Tiramisu probably the best I've ever had....In chatting with the hotel manager, I had mentioned that we were here on a delayed anniversary trip. Two glasses of Prosecco showed up at our table. This view is extraordinary and the local, young servers were just delightful. Treat yourself if you're in that area and just go enjoy. The fixed price menu is reasonable for what you get. Sorry we are leaving and can't go back.More

The ice cream was lovely and there was lots of choice of drinks and snacks, they also do some hats and t shirts which are quite nice. I would recommend the honeycomb ice cream as it was amazing. The staff are lovely. The only thing...that could have improved it for me was the option of a waffle cone but this is my personal preference.More

You would not perhaps such an amazing coffee and service from a small coffee hut by a busy beach...but this delivers that and more! All Covid restrictions applied. Coffee was so good, and home made cakes too.

Visited here with my family earlier in the month. My wife had teacakes and tea, and I had a coffee. We were served by a barista called Dan, he was charasmatic and very funny, and told us where to go for the best view on...the beautiful beach! Would highly recommend the shack!More

As soon as I arrived here I felt like I was back in New Zealand again. Then all of a sudden the girl replied "one long black" and I was thinking "only kiwis say that". Really nice scenery, coffee and food. Well worth a trip.

A truly great location, ambience and view of beach and ocean but the coffee, sadly, leaves something to be desired! I am a coffee barista working normally in London but due to the current Covid ‘lockdown’ I was visiting friends in Co Antrim. They introduced...me to the Shack! The first thing that shocked was the price... London was and is cheaper. Can this be right? For this the coffee must be amazing! I believe it is roasted locally and certainly the coffee is very tastefully presented in bags for sale. The service was great and everyone was friendly but the coffee itself was bitter, grainy and lacked the flavours associated with artisanal single origin beans and blends. I tried a few coffees over a couple of days and was disappointed... Coffee is of course variable in its taste and everyone has a different palette, but for me it was actually unpalatable. A shame as the location is other worldly.More
