Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pictures online of all the Christmas decorations really appealed, so we thought we would travel up and visit one weekend. I was really disappointed when we did, it's very overpriced and the shop was all over the place. We then decided to go tovthe cafe...and that was just as disappointing. Food lacked tasted and the service wasn't great either .. I felt leaving rather deflated.More

We’ve been coming here for years 4-5 times a year for lunch. We usually have fish and chips which has always been excellent. I have no idea what is happening to this place but on Tuesday we went for lunch. The fish was absolutely dreadful....Gone has the home battered cod to be replaced with frozen tiny portions of battered? fish which clearly were pollock and decidedly overcooked and hard. The chips were the end of a bag, all small pieces far to crisp to eat. I afraid you’ve lost my families custom. We will not be returning . There are countless places to eat in and around Exeter so if your footfall decreases you will know whyMore

Amazing HUGE garden centre, restaurant and coffee shop. Also a pet area, home and gifts and an amazing indoor plant section. Staff are incredibly friendly, dog friendly and beautiful gardens and pond. Could not fault this place at all.

Absolutely shocking food. Coleslaw was nice but the panini was horrid and lacking ham. Staff to busy to complain to as they were talking bad about a previous customer who just left. Terrible performance and poor customer care.

This is our go-to garden centre, not only for gardening supplies, but also for the Lilly Pond Restaurant. The restaurant is split into two areas, the inside area and the conservatory. Dogs are only allowed in the conservatory. Although this area is nice, in wintertime,...in spite of the wall heaters, it can be very cold, such that you have to keep your coat on and hurry up eating and drinking, so you can get back into the main shop to get warm. It would be nice if in the winter months, the no dogs rule in the inside restaurant could be relaxed, until springtime, for instance. Because of the cold in the conservatory, we won’t be going to Bernaville until the spring, which is a shame.More

Well cared for and stocked garden centre and very helpful staff. Great cafe, lovely food but don't try the Americano coffee - there seemed to be very little coffee in it! The espresso coffee was very good though.

We thought we’d treat ourself to some lunch today. We both opted for the Ham, Egg & Chips. Service was fast and friendly but our experience was let down by fatty ham. Not what we expected for nearly £9 each

I have to be honest here and say we did not intend to stop here, we were on our way home from the west country but our Sat Nav decided to go mad and we were going around in circles in Exeter on a Saturday...lunch time which was not good! We decided to pull in and take stock of our bearings and have a drink and a cake. The coffee was good along with the choice of cakes. Good to see that the tables were regularly cleared and cleanedMore

Ordered two coffees (latte and capuccino) a full breakfast and a Bacon sandwich. We would have preffer the coffee to be a bit hotter as they were more warm than hot. The breakfast was very good and decent value. Unfortunately the dandwich wasnt quite as...advertised as it was on ordinary sliced bread and not the "Thick Cut Bread" as on the menu. We were quite dissappointed in that and it didnt seem to be value for money, my wife probably would not have ordered this is she had known it was ordinary sliced bread.More

Really disappointing visit this morning. The two options for breakfast were beans on toast or a vegan sausage roll. Everything else was unsuitable, including hashbrowns which contained milk? Credit where credit is due, the staff were very helpful and friendly as always. I just can't...help but feel like in 2021 vegan options should be readily available.More
