Held a fabulous 18th Birthday Party for my nephew. The skittle alley, pool table and darts were perfect entertainment for a mixed group of family and friends. Staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating, allowing us to decorate, bring our own cake and choose music. Food was amazing and such incredible value with great range of sandwiches, salads, sausage rolls to die for, chicken wings etc. Perfect venue for a great night.

This family run pub is the best, tucked away in Pitminster village under the Blackdown hills it offers a friendly welcome, a great selection of beers and ales kept in excellent condition and priced to please any drinker.
The food is very good and not pretentious, they are not pretending to be a up market restaurant and serve good grub at very reasonable prices.
Winter time and the log burner is a roaring success with all in the bar and restaurant, down in the mill bar there is a pool table ( only 50p ) dart board and a lovely skittle ally, which can hold functions.
When your in the area get to the Queens you won’t regret it.

Simon and Clarey Have recently taken over The Queens Arms in Pitminster . They have quickly created a warm and inviting traditional pub. We have been several times to eat in the evening, and the atmosphere has been great. The food is delicious , and the service has been prompt and friendly . We also had our mums wake at the Queens arms. They provided a fantastic selection of sandwiches and home made cakes for after the church service, for at least 70 people. In the evening 25 members of our family stayed for a delicious homemade curry . Great pub, would highly recommend .

We visited here recently and were looking forward to our evening out. We have been here before so felt confident it would all be ok. We Walked into the bar, it wasn’t very busy but we weren’t greeted or spoken to and no one appeared to ask us if we’d booked a table or offer us a drink or a menu. We just stood for about 10 minutes. I saw a table with reserved on it so we sat down. Eventually a young lad asked if we’d like a drink. They didn’t have the 2 drinks my husband and I wanted ( Bacardi and one of the Ales on the bar) he then brought the menus to the table but not a word was spoken. He took our order a bit later on but still didn’t converse with us. We all found our food ok although my steak was overdone and my chips soggy. Our deserts were ok although they didn’t have the one my husband wanted.... it wasn’t his night was it! Soon the pub emptied and it was only us left. We’d ordered tea and coffee with our deserts and mine was cold. We found the lady serving to be unfriendly and she made a few odd comments to us. By 9.40pm she’d switched off the lights and the music and plopped the bill down without us asking for it and without asking us if we’d like anything else. We all found it a very odd experience having previously had such a lovely evening at this delightful little pub before. The lady that was there before had even encouraged us to sit round the fire and have another drink after we’d had our meals. Definitely won’t be returning as we all felt like we were unwanted guests. Such a shame because this pub is lovely inside and when business‘s are struggling they need to be giving the customers a warm friendly welcome so that they’ll return.

We had a lovely visit to The Queen’s Arms for lunch. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and the home cooked food was delicious. I had the home made salmon fish cakes which were really tasty and the roast looked good with lovely veg side dishes. Nice glass of wine and scrummy puddings and then we sat outside in the sunshine in the beer garden for coffee. All very enjoyable!

A delicious Sunday lunch (one roast beef and one roast pork) both cooked to perfection and with an impressive range of fresh veg. You have a choice of large or medium sized plates and in both cases the portions are generous, so much so that for us there was no room left for puddings. We have vowed to indulge in the pudding selection next time.
We often pop into the pub mid-week but this was our first Sunday lunch and definitely wont be our last.

An awkward Veggie + an awkward Vegan popped in unannounced as we were passing, on a busy Sunday lunchtime. Lovely friendly chatty greeting from several family members! Table in a beautiful sunny garden with parasols for shade, with a pear tree + lovely hanging baskets! Super friendly chatty young waitress, very attentive, nothing too much trouble, said can create veggie + vegan meals for you even though it's a Sunday Roast day! Absolutely delicious bean burger in a brioche bun with large salad for the vegan, + a beetroot + feta flan with large salad for the veggie. Best food we'd had in 4 days of pub meals! + landlady + landlord came out to check we had everything we needed + were happy! Great atmosphere in the garden! What a wonderful wonderful place! ❤

We visited a couple of weeks ago for a Fish & Chip special evening and it was really good, healthy portions, lovely fresh food and plenty of choice despite been called a Fish & Chip evening, I had the Cod, wife had fish cakes and our son had sausage all came as two portions so perfect for swapping, not to mention the chips, curry sauce and mushy peas. So we decided to try last nights Indian Banquet special evening, wow this was even better, great flavours, good choice and great value for money, the poppadum's to start with usual sides, followed by Chicken Tikka and Lamb and Aubergine Rogan Josh with other wonderful sides. WE don't normally right reviews but these visits really do warrant a review and letting people know how good it is, make sure you book as it was full last night.

Clary & Si you have done it again! Just brilliant! We booked for a delicious Sunday roast in October and were delighted with it. The menu was mouthwatering and our food was truly fabulous, as it always is. Everything was so tasty and not a morsel was left. With a big table of 9 people, we enjoyed the variety of choices on offer with the Sunday menu and merrily finished it all: 9 clean plates! We love coming to the QA. You are both such a welcoming couple and the pub has an amazing ambiance. What a treat it is to visit! Thank you
See you again soon x

They could only fit us in at Midday because of already being fully booked, but having had a small breakfastI was very hungry when we arrived. The dinner smells were already wafting across the car park.
Our table was reserved for us by the roaring wood burner. The pub already filling up with diners. Drinkers and dogowners directed to the Mill bar.
When we ordered the food came very quickly on lovely warm plates. The beef fell apart on the fork and plentiful vegetables all perfectly cooked with lashings of gravy and extra gravy too!.I must add that the swede was the best ever.
It was really delicious.I noted the lady at the next table was having a desert, I might go her route and have a smaller portion next time so I can eat a dessert too!.
So good to have a better than homely meal cooked for you served by friendly staff in warm cosy surroundings.

Delicious Sunday lunch enjoyed by the hubby & I. Lovely ambience & friendly service. We both very much enjoyed the soup of the day and then tucked in for the main. He opted for the mushroom & chestnut Wellington and I the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding , both served with tender stem broccoli, carrots, cauliflower cheese & roast potatoes. Everything delicious! We didn’t have room for pudding but will definitely be making a return visit.

Delicious Sunday Roast. Small menu choice but perfectly executed. Slow cooked beef melted in the mouth as did the Pork. Lunch was given a thumbs up from son age 6 who had the smaller plate option. Standard size was huge with side dishes of beautiful veg. We’ll certainly be back to make the most of the stunning outside area this summer.

What an excellent family run village pub! Having recently had a great lunch in the lovely outside area, I returned with a friend for Sunday lunch and the roast was excellent. The pork was tender and very tasty, the vegetables were spot on, the gravy mmmmm...and having cleaned our plates, we couldn't resist the homemade cherry and almond cake...oh boy! This was a quality Sunday lunch made with care and attention! The atmosphere is really welcoming, the staff are personable, nothing too much trouble and the prices are very reasonable. Add to all this, a well stocked bar....and this is a venue to visit and revisit ♥️

As the weather starts to get more Autumnal, we all start to drift towards our favourite Sunday comfort and head out to find the best roast dinner. The Queens Arms delivers exactly that, crispy roast potatoes, beautifully cooked pork and all your favourite trimmings, with all the gravey needed. Delivered with great customer service. Exeptional👌 Will definitely be back for more!

What a place! The Queen's Arms stands tall and white on a corner at the entrance to the village, midway between the nearby villages of Blagdon Hill and Corfe. The front of the old building is generously decorated with plantings that coordinate with the Union flag flying above the entrance. Someone obviously cares about this place!
The carpark at the rear gives access to what must be the summer heart of the pub, the revitalised garden patio, subtley lit when we arrived, and the back door to the interior, the main bar and the double fronted woodburner at its centre. A welcome indeed, but there is more! A smaller bar with another woodburner lies beyond, then steps down to the Mill Bar, set for pool and darts and through to the skittle alley and disabled access out to the road.
This is obviously a place that has developed over many years and in Si and Clary's hands it has found a couple, and a dedicated staff, who are able to bring it to its full potential.
We turned up for Pizza Wednesday. The pub was buzzing! Pizza was being eaten wherever we looked! My pizza Napoli, generously sized and topped was washed down with the best pint of Otter Bright. It had been on my mind for 45 minutes of driving and it did not disappoint.
The Queen's Arms is exceptional. The beer is well kept and well priced, the pizza was more than I could eat in one sitting and the rest of the menu would keep you amused and well fed for any number of visits. I hear the Sunday lunch with locally sourced beef is a thing of wonder.
If only all pubs were like this! I wouldn't have to drive out of West Somerset to find such enthusiasm and such excellence.
Thank you Si and Clary. I'll come again!
