Have eaten here before with family and it was quiet on that Sunday this time it was very busy and the service suffered badly. The kids got theirs almost straight away but the adults waited over an hour for food which even 10% off doesn't cover. My meal from the specials was very nice the others said their std roasts... Excellent food good selection on the menu, we would recommend the selection of good quality steaks and the malteser parfait was delicious. House wine was of a good quqlityThe staff very helpful and service was also good, the only criticism was that depending where your table was it could be drafty, we would recommend this restaurant for food and service

The meal here was very good. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. I had the meat platter and it was very good apart from very chewy pork crackling. This did not spoil the meal, and we went on to have a wonderful pudding. I will be returning here and recommending to friends.

We popped in for a pub lunch on a Tuesday. Lovely old style pub with roaring open fires and the food and beer didn't disappoint either. The pork and pheasant meatballs were a highlight. Hop House 13 lager on draft was a treat too! We'll definitely be returning.

Very busy lunchtime but service was excellent. We ordered toasties and sandwiches along with the cauliflower fritters which were all excellent and fresh. Always a favourite place with a great choice and professional service.

This isn't the first review I have written for the Cowshed but as its been some time since I ate here its worth it. The occasion was celebrating my wife and I's 30 years together so it was important that this was a good night and to be fair we weren't let down. The staff were polite, attentive and made... More

Most enjoyable meal with my wife and son. Good starters, great steaks as a main, and excellent choice of deserts. Could not believe the low prices! With such pleasant staff and fine wines with the meal, an evening to remember. Will visit again soon.

I went with a friend and he ordered a burger, I chicken. Both were around the same price. Yes, he got a massive plate of food laden with fries and a lovely big juicy burger, while I was given a small chicken breast and just a few potatoes and it was OK, but I could have made better at home....
