Setting is unique and authentic in the beautiful village of Volpaia. The experience is unforgettable. Service and food are excellent. Great place to have local food and wine.
Exceptional food. Stunning combinations of local ingredients and South American touches. Let the highly qualified and friendly staff surprise you. Worth any detour. Four return visits have confirmed our 5 star recommendation.
We arrived on Sunday midday to find the main restaurant of this little borgo completely full. We were very disappointed. Discovered a little enoteca in the town piazza, also full. Then we spied a tiny sign, overgrown with ivy, at the foot of a stair case. When we arrived on the old stone terrace, we discovered on of the BEST... More
We have been travelling to Italy a lot over the past years and the food is of course on of the major attractions of this magnificent country. This year we had a new wonderful experience at the Osteria Volpaia in the Chianti hills in Tuscany. The menu is interesting and the food is very fine and delicate and hold some... More
We were fortunate enough to eat a lot of great food during our two-week holiday in Italy. Osteria Volpaia is right up there with the best meals we had--just great food. The menu is interesting in that it is not just the usual Tuscan dishes. Rather, the chef has put an inventive spin on those dishes and ingredients, so there's... More
We had an excellent four course dinner at the terrace. At first we were served a couple of surprises from the chef. Then we had an exquisite chicken liver panpepato with orange and bread for starters. Followed by an amazing kale gnudi ravioli with finocchiona sausage carbonara. For main course a tender beef cheek. And then we ended the evening... More
Found this spot while looking for a place that stayed open a bit later for lunch. Had an absolutely delicious meal on the terrace. Chef sent appetizers and a little dessert that were wonderful. Even the bread was fantastic. We had the roast duck agnolotti and wild boar pappardelle and a delicious gelato dessert. Service was wonderful. One of our... More
After a lengthy car journey, we were delighted to find in the Osteria Volpaia an 'oasis', offering an innovative take on Tuscan dishes and a variety of excellent local wines. Gorgonzola ice cream shouldn't work, but it does! Alexandro was a quietly efficient, but very attentive, host and our three dining experiences were very much enjoyed in an historic building... More
This was one of our most delicious meals in all of Italy. The food was elegant and fresh, and most importantly, everything was so incredibly good!
