We visited yesterday with our two children. The service and kindness shown to our family by your staff, is a level which I have never experienced. Thank you for your kindness and generosity. The food was lovely, and we will be back. I would recommend your tea shop to anyone.

We found here by chance and even though it was fairly busy they had room for us 2. Tea for 2 with a jacket potato with cheese savoury for me and tuna mayonnaise for t'other half, plus a diet coke, total cost £15.00 ,well worth the cost. Cosy atmosphere and very pleased with even the unisex toilet.

Today my daughter and I stumbled upon this hidden gem after a walk at Bolam lake. We had a warm cheerful welcome by the lovely Louise. There was a few elder people in, one lady age 99! Louise knew everyone by name and made sure the more senior customers had a cushion to sit on. Service was efficient and friendly... More

Situated in an old kitchen, complete with range etc, this is a spotlessly clean venue. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and cafe-type food was high quality. Worth dropping in to when visiting Belsay Hall.

I've been three times in two months. Well that says it doesn't it ! This place is unpretentious - it doesn't make exaggerated claims of its purpose or fayre. But be assured of a warm and friendly welcome regardless if you're a regular or first time visitor. The food is quality - all homemade. Light lunches are moderately priced and... More

Dear reader. My wife and I have been exploring again. It is a 'Little Gem!' Tea, coffee, etc. as you... More

This was my second visit to this tea room. The first time we sat indoors. Lovely cosy atmosphere. The second time it was sunny so we sat out at the tables on the grassy area - great for the kids to run around on. Selection of cakes is fantastic. So difficult to choose just one. Limited savoury choice but the... More

Like a previous reviewer, I followed the signs from Wallington. It's not quite as close as you imagine, but as you're no doubt travelling by car it's no great problem. It would be a long stretch if you saw the sign and tried to walk it. Had a simple and pleasant enough cup of filter coffee (free refills) and a... More
