Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a spot I’ve been occasionally dropping into since their last Spifire experience event. It’s a beautiful spot, has nice, simple menus that taste superb, rotate regularly. Now supplemented by a pizza oven right behind the counter. Despite in being invariably busy, the friendly...staff never have a problem fitting us in, and are always gracious and attentive. It’s become my goto pit stop whenever I pass through the area.More

We visited for the last Spitfire fly in with friends. Very hectic but staff were making a great job of helping people park. We had fortunately booked for lunch and were lucky enough to be allocated a window table. How wonderful to look out and...be able to see what was happening. We were a mixed table of vegetarian and meat eaters. Our waiting staff, Linda, identified the specials and talked through the options. Drinks came quickly, lunch a bit longer but so busy!! Well worth the wait, beautifully presented and so delicious. Outside, the heritage vehicles and some people in costume made this a fantastic visit.More

We were greeted abruptly and rudely, the service was ridiculously slow with absolutely no organisation and all the staff seemed rude. We were basically told we couldn't have any food other than coffee and cake despite it being lunchtime, and when we found out that...we needed to go up to the counter to order coffee and cake we were initially ignored, and when we were able to attract the attention of one of the serving staff, we were told I have got all these other drinks to make and they didn't want to take our order. Another member of staff eventually took our order, gave us our cakes, and when we asked about the coffees we had ordered we were again told we have got all of these other ones to make when we were only trying to find out whether they would be delivering it to the table. We won;t be going back. The owner needs to sort this all out!More

I live 2 miles away but I'd sooner drive 10 miles than go back. The head chef took offence when asked about gluten free options (my daughter is coeliac). In addition, not a good atmosphere due to one member of staff who I assume is...the same woman referred to in other reviews. It's clear who it is once you get there.More

Bonfire Night. Great music. Event bright said full, then available. Pre-booked parking, then full car park!?! Park down the road and then can't get in by foot!?! Then told we could. Queued for ages for a burger for them to sell out. If you don't...know how to organise an event why try Mr Ritchie, stick to making films. An event organiser you are not!More

Interesting location ‘on top of the world. We were curious to see what Guy Ritchie had done with the aircraft landing strip. Pleasantly surprised to find his own brewed beer on sale. Well worth a visit.

I wouldn’t have bothered reviewing but having read through I can see that there are problems here with probably the same member of staff who was rude to us today. Lovely lady served me 4 drinks and 4 slices of cake £27.50. No available seating...so sat at a table which was reserved for 1.45 pm as it was only 11.20 we didn’t see this as a problem. After about 10 mins we had a member of staff with a face like thunder telling us that she would now have to replace the cutlery & rewipe the table. That would take her all of 1 min, I’m thinking. Why are tables being unused and reserved for hours in advance. We had left by 11.45.More

This is the 3rd time I've eaten at the airfield and it was not a relaxing experience. The manager was rude, rushed and didn't listen. The staff are not managed and are not fully briefed on the menu or the beers. The system of ordering...is painfully slow and no one capable seems to be in charge. Although the beer is excellent and the food good I won't be rushing back. Such a shame as with proper management and well trained staff this could be so much better. After my last visit I was emailed for my feedback which I gave but to date no response. Perhaps they don't care enough.More

Honestly the worst experience ever, really felt victimised because we had our dogs with us.. They have no signage to back up the way the staff treated us. From going into the front door to be hijacked by staff to advise we could not use...this door with dogs.. we had to use side entrance.. no signs.. to stand around, not know where to sit,, Advised by bar staff they dont serve food (again no signage) to sue again to find out where to sit (again no signage) apparently not able to sit one end!!! Eventually to be seated at a table reserved for visiting pilots!!! to be told we could only sit there for 45 mins. Eventually to be given a menu and then when we went to order advised we could not order food as we were on a reserved table...... REALLY Obviously not dog friendly..More

We had pre booked a table for breakfast. On the day there was apparently a problem with the water supply so they were unable to serve food. A member of staff took the trouble to telephone me to explain the problem and perhaps save a...wasted journey. We went anyway and enjoyed excellent coffee in very pleasant and welcoming surroundings.More

We had a rude welcoming from the restaurant manager about slipping through the net about a large booking (of 8 people) for my aunties birthday this morning and was mentioned throughout our time there, this had been confirmed by a telephone call prior, the service...was quick and fine but I will not be recommending! I highly suggest that the manager should learn some better customer service!More

Came for lunch for which we had a reservation. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted and seated. Were not given menus or asked for our drink orders. 20 minutes later still no menus despite asking three times and we could see the manager sorting them...into piles at the front desk, so In the end my wife went and asked her for one and was reluctantly given one along with a rude comment. I went to the bar and ordered our drinks from there and brought them back to the table. After 50 minutes we finally had our order taken, again having to ask for service. The food was delicious and the place is amazing. It’s just such a shame that they can’t get the basics right. Fundamental service such as, being seated, being given menus, having drink order taken were just totally absent. We had a baby and a 3 year old with us which can be taxing for lunch anyway but waiting over an hour is just not acceptable. Rude manager who just complains about how busy they are, but when you look around there is no sense of urgency from any of the staff. They’re all just milling about aimlessly with no direction. Often completing tasks that should have been done long before they opened for service.More

The restaurant is gorgeous - overlooks some stunning views and with the decor and the music it had such a great evening atmosphere....Staff were all so kind and polite, service was great. Our food was the highlight of the evening! So delicious and such good quality. We had such a lovely evening and can't wait to visit again soon.More
