Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stay in Biggin regularly and this place has been on our radar for ages, but we’ve always managed to get lost walking to it. Today was v wet so we drove. It’s a lovely, traditional Derbyshire pub with an impressive menu. We are veggies...so are sometimes limited, but not a the Packhorse. The food was lovely and had a great pint of Tetley with it. We had our dog with us. He’s a Pointer and only two. We’ve worked hard to train him so we can enjoy a pub trip, but unfortunately the other mutt owners hadn’t. I was super proud that Dylan didn’t respond, but left me feeling grumpy as with irresponsible owners like that, there will soon be no mutt friendly pubs left😡More

Delicious food, generous portions. The couple that run the bar and cook were very friendly and welcoming. Even had a homemade ice cream doggie treat for our cockerpoo. A little out of the way, but well worth a visit.

What a lovely pub! Me and my boyfriend went on Sunday 5th May 2024 and we had such a lovely meal. All staff were a credit to the pub too as we were made to feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. We each...had a burger with onion rings, home cooked chips and homemade coleslaw which were out of this world. It was all very tasty and very reasonably priced. When we are back in the area, we will definitely be returning! Thanks again!More

What a lovely friendly welcome. The staff were lovely. There is a good selection of ales and other drinks and the food was excellent. Just like home cooking in a very friendly atmosphere. Great place to relax. I would highly recommend giving this a try.

Perfect stop off when walking in this lovely part of the world. Excellent hearty lunch of tasty, home-cooked food. My filled Yorkshire was outstanding. Friendly atmosphere and great choice of beers too! Couldn't have asked for more! Would highly recommend.

Fabulous freshly cooked meal. Gluten Free option was excellent with absolutely no fuss. The chips took me right back to the ones my Nanna made me with a beautiful caramelised colour and flavour. The best homely meal I have had in years. Thank you

On a week long stay at Longnor and found this amazing little place. Went twice in three days, made to feel welcome and comfortable the moment we entered the bar, with Barney our Border Collie. The food was amazing, homecooked and with no skimping on...the portions. Polite and friendly service and they made our Barney and ourselves more than welcome. We will be back next time we're in the area.More
