Went with my husband on an itison voucher. 2 course and a glass of wine, excellent value and the food was great. The garlic bread starter was more like pizza but very tasty. The fish and chips were light and crispy and my husband's steak burger was moist and succulent. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Having been gifted an “Itison” voucher for Xmas, my wife and I visited the Quayside for a two-course lunch (with a glass of Prosecco) on a cold, wet and windy Saturday afternoon. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and we were fortunate enough to get a window table offering great views over the small harbour. Along with our glass... More

First time visit, simple menu and friendly staff. The portions were good value for money. We had scampi and chips, haddock and chips and a calamari n chips & and a portion of onion rings. The food was tasty and full of flavour, the chips were very good and not soggy or greasy. The onion rings were home made and... More

Stopped of to have some fish and chips and watch the waves roll in. Was too cold to sit outside. The restaurant overlooked the harbour and the waves certainly crashed. The food was delicious and plenty of it.The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend for traditional fish tea by the sea.

Despite staying not a million miles away this was our first visit, but certainly wont be our last. It was a midweek January evening using a website voucher, but service was still warm and welcoming Food was faultless and portions VERY generous. Thoroughly recommended

This is a lovely wee restaurant on the harbour front with fabulous views (if you go during the day this will be easier to appreciate than at night in the dark!). We visited on a Saturday night using an "it is on" voucher (fantastic deal - 4 people having 2 courses and wine for £44). We weren't sure what to... More

When we arrived right on twelve noon there was no-one else in the restaurant but we were given a warm welcome and shown to a table at the window, giving great views of the harbour. Our lunch was excellent. I had calamari, followed by the battered fish and chips with peas. My wife had breaded mushrooms the breaded haddock, chips... More

We waited for ages in the restaurant but no one came to seat us, went in to the carry out shop and everyone was there. Looked to be 3 or 4 customers, so I have no idea why one person could not stay in the restaurant. Surely you have to look after sit in customers, who will obviously spend on... More

We went to the restaurant tonight and waited, and waited and waited. No-one was serving! There wasn't a person in sight! We ended up leaving and going to the Anchor in Johnshaven. Terrible lack of respect for paying customers. They also seemed very short staffed on our last 2 visits. Strange way to run a business
