Came here for the first time with family on an offer through Itison, and what a lovely experience it was. Friendly staff, a warm upstair restaurant with views of the harbor on a beautiful blue sky sunny day, and then there was the fish! Served grilled, breadcrumbed or battered with chips and mushy peas it was perfectly cooked, meaty and... More

Turned up without a booking but got shown to a premium table in the window overlooking the harbour - just brilliant! We both opted for Haddock and chips - one battered and one breaded - both beautiful. Service was great - very friendly, accompanied by a pot of tea and glass of wine. £35 - not particularly cheap but happy... More

I only visited the takeaway, although I saw there was an eat in restaurant with an extensive menu. The fish was cooked fresh and the chips were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside as chips should be. A touch more expensive, but a premium product that tasted good enough to justify the extra.

My partner, my 5 year old daughter and I dined here this weekend for the first time. We thought the service was really quick. Food and drinks were served promptly. The decor was nice and the fairy lights created a lovely ambiance. The waiting staff were friendly and polite, the food was delicious and seemed reasonably priced to us. There... More

Fish and chips with peas for two, served quickly and nice and hot. The fish was fleshy and fresh, the chips average. More expensive than similar restaurants in the area. £5 for a pot of tea a bit much. Staff were pleasant and efficient.

Lovely walk from Inverbervie to Johnshaven and back on a sunny Sunday and we shared a portion of chips on the way back. A lovely week chipper and I'd love to go back and sample the lobster supper sometime. They have a lovely menu and the service for take out was prompt and friendly. We sat our in the sun... More

I ate at the Quayside takeaway on Wednesday evening (28-9-16), and it has definitely improved since my last visit. I had the 'light' fish supper, basically a small (seniors/pensioners) battered haddock with chips. The fish was nice, and the generous portion of chips was tasty. It's still not quite the original HornBlowers, but is still better than many other chip... More
