They have an extensive menu which may work against them. The stuffed squid was tough/rubbery although the filling was tasty. Scotch egg was way overdone, calamari ok ish but the batter was soggy rather than nice and crispy and the crab cake just not crabby...enough for me.More

We were a table of 9 and all but one of us ordered various roast dinners. The 3 vegetarian nut roasts were quite dry and bland. We were dining with some family and friends that we hadn't seen in a while and the whole tables...vegetables that were supposed to be a part of the roast dinner were served on 2 small dishes to share between the 8 of us. I think this is really cheeky - the vegetables should have been plated on our individual plates not as sharing plates. I have never experienced this in a pub before. There was a minuscule bow of peas in the centre, and some other veg around this but it was honestly more like what you would expect a two person portion to be, not a four person portion. This was really disappointing. And you don't always feel comfortable sharing plates of food depending on whom you are dining with. Same happened with the starters which were served on a plate alongside starters for those at the opposite end of the table, and with a side salad. How can you share a side salad? Bizarre. Not sure if they were trying to save on washing up!? But it just makes it really awkward picking food off a plate then passing it down, etc. Not ideal. The starters were nice, although the homemade hummus came with literally half of a tortilla which was not enough. Shame, because the pub itself was lovely.More

Visited The White Lion for lunch after an enjoyable 4 mile circular walk from the recently issued Shepherd Neame Pub Walks Website (recommended!). The welcome was warm and the food ticked all the boxes . . . . freshly prepared, very tasty and reasonably priced...from a generous and varied menu. Importantly, The Master Brew was also spot on! Friendly efficient service, lovely food and a perfectly presented pint (or two). What's not to like? The ideal pub lunch !More

We were staying at a local B &B and booked a table for Saturday evening at the White Lion based on good reviews. We had our two children aged 13 and 9 with us.The pub itself is attractive and had a welcoming atmosphere. The landlady...herself was friendly and came over to chat with us, and the young girl serving us was very polite and helpful. 3 of us had fish and chips and my daughter the home made burger. All were delicious, homemade and cooked to order so very fresh. There was plenty of choice on the menu, what I would describe as typical pub food, but this was exactly what we wanted-nothing pretentious, just good quality. My son was the only one who could fit in pudding, and from the speed it was dispatched I can assume it was equally good! Would happily come here again if we stay in the area. Many thanks.More

Had a really good family Sunday lunch today at the White Lion. The service was excellent and they are very dog friendly providing towels, water bowls and treats for our beagle. The garden is lovely with covered over areas if needed and the pub is...very well organised for following covid restrictions.More

The best takeaway fish and chips! Seriously, better than anything in Faversham. Don't think twice, support your local pub. Highly recommended 👍🏻

Myself and my daughter had yet another wonderful afternoon for Sunday lunch with friends. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was served hot and in great time it all was delicious. I would highly recommend the raspberry and peach tart with pistachio ice...cream wow. I would most definitely recommend a visit and will be returning again.More

I visited on the same day and can say that the owner's recollection is at fault. This was not a busy Sunday as there were not that many guests and it is flat nonsense to say that 100+ people turned up. It was less than...50. It is also nonsense to say that they had no warning since I warned them 45 minutes before and we asked if they minded us using the toilets. Staff said they did not mind. As soon as teh group arrived the owner and staff started shouting and ordering us to go away. So we started to do so. Taht wasn't enough - they kept on shouting. We had elderly people and children but they would not let us use teh toilets , despite what they said before. We were quite happy to follow the rules but staff and some customers then told us to "p--- off". It was most unpleasant. Far from blocking the entrance and driveway, our group started to move off but the owner wanted to carry on engaging us and shouting at us. She was deeply offensive. No-one was abusive to her - she was abusive to us, upsetting the elderly and children in our group who were not used to this kind of aggressive and rude behaviour. Our leader was forced by the owner to stay behind and listen to her harangue him and shout at him. I strongly advise customers to avoid this pub. The owner and staff are rude, aggressive and unpleasant.More

Lovely aesthetic to the pub unfortunately that’s all for the positives. It felt like we were an inconvenience, with the locals being favoured and checked up on more. We had to ask three times to even get a menu. The staff seemed uninterested, and not...helpful, some of which I would even consider incompetent. We were left waiting several times including 45 minutes just to order dessert. I understand it can be difficult when busy but compared to other tables we felt quite neglected.More
